I've got it. All this was about tanking. Morton got an absolute gobful from Wallace because what he did was too obvious - kicking it out on the full with 90 secs to go, everyone would realise we were tanking. The poor lad must have panicked, ball in hand, Port looking like losing, close to goal and him able to dob them from anywhere, strict tanking orders, tic toc, tic toc. Unbelievable pressure. All makes sense now.
