Apparently they wanted a 40% increase! That’s either backfired terribly or they purposely priced themselves out of it.
Someone said on twitter that the 40% claim was misleading. They wanted $1.4m over two years instead of $1.0m per yar (i.e reduced pay packer per year but a commitment of two more years)

Big Little Lies a, er, little flat on the ending but overall pretty great. Laura Dern BOG in the acting stakes but Nic pretty close. The soundtracks of both seasons, including one glorious track played twice, were amazing.

Started on Euphoria. Teen highschool angst about drugs, drunks, social media, *smile* pics, revenge porn and dysfunctional families. Edgier than most of that genre but not sure I'm the target audience

I've watched a fair bit of it too. Good to see a show address texting rather than dramas where a character drives across town to deliver one sentence.

And not sure I'm the target audience either!

Second series been given the green light.

Think you mean The Loudest Voice TT. Excellent show..Russell Crowe and Naomi Watts are superb!

Annoying that it ends next week. It's been great. Will be interesting to see how it compares with the movie, due out in December. John Lithgow as Ailes, Malcolm McDowell as Rupert, Kidman as Gretchen.

Yes, it's great. Although I hate Fox and the man's politics, particularly pushing the Iraq war, he was an amazing political and business operator, while the sexual harrassment stuff is downright creepy. Good insights into his world view and his amorality. Seth Macfarlane is also good as the Brian Lewis, the slimey senior exec too. Funny seeing Rupert, James and Lachlan show up as well. Russ is amazing, wearing a fat suit but gets the body language and movements just right. Naomi excellent as always.

If you are into the Sopranos/The Wire type material, Ben Affleck/Matt Damon's production of City on a Hill is pretty good - set in Baltimore (I think late 80s) in the Irish low-level organised crime gang vs police/FBI. It's a bit formulaic at times but has that good dark vibe - the cops are corrupt, Kevin Bacon is great as a dirty FBI agent, the Irish guys and their families are likeable yet menacing. Worth checking out.

Will check it out, antman.

Escape at Dannemora is also good. Eight-parter based on a ridiculous but true prison break story. Benicio del Toro and Paul Dano as the felons, Patricia Arquette as the corrupt prison employee who helps them. She's extraordinary.

Started this, yes it's excellent! Great ensemble cast. Arquette is fantastic - absolutely no vanity in her performance. I always used to find her really hot and strangely even in this I still do :)
