I maintain that we are very quick to run around like headless chooks after a couple of losses. In the pre season we do tend to jump on the bandwagon but we are particularly good at jumping off. I didn't say we don't buy memberships. Look at what happened here this season. The vibe was really positive before the game against Geelong. After that game? Come on people, it's a practice match, the first game of the season.

Totally agree RROFO but it's par for the course.
Unfortunately some Richmond supporters have lost hope after so many years of continual disappointments and the skepticism and bitterness creeps in pretty quickly, even after a couple of inconsequential trial games. Even the smallest negatives seems to be amplified as if the sky is falling in.
It does get very tiresome reading that over reactive crap when we haven't even played a real game yet.

[I'm starting to worry that is about all he can do. How many times is he going to use the mid age range players as an excuse. When will we have our proper structure?? When Hall returns?? As i've said previously, fantastic media manager, but showing to all that he lacks coaching nous and ability. Looks like Eade was the man.

im glad you are concerned about what i will call myself after the year is out!!! Truth is if we get anyone of the following - eade, brittain, or balme i will give up following football all together as there wont be a richmond football club to follow in a couple of years. As for harvey i dont think he is as good as others are making him out to be. Odonell would have to be the pick of the untried, but wallace is the MAN. He is very very hungry to stick it up a few people and also to win a flag!!! He wants recognition as being one of the top coaches in the game and he has the BALLS to do it!!! Not like frawley who sits down and asks anita who should play were???
Make you mind up *smile*!

The spin doctor at work.

You're not that happy with TW are you MB?
Overall he's done a good job but he has a jukebox full of excuses & they've all been used.

Perhaps he actually believes what he is saying. Perhaps he doesn't see it as spin at all. It's only because us tiger fans have become as feral and impatient as we are that there is a perceived need for spin in the first place.

I have never seen a footy supporter hit the panic button as quickly as a Richmond supporter. One of the reasons trolls love us so much and why we have a reputation for turning on our own and being bandwagon supporters. With our history you may say being impatient is justified, but it does portrait a certain image and causes us to lose power when in discussion with other footy supporters.

To still be getting 30,000 members after making the finals twice in 25 years, I think Tiger supporters have been more than patient.

And don't you have to have some success first before you can get bandwagon supporters? I thought that's what a bandwagon supporter did - jumped on when all was going well.

I didn't say Richmond supporters were bandwagon supporters, I said it was the impression we can give. I said it is what makes the trolls life easier and makes us one of their favorites. Like shooting ducks in a barrel. As a group we give them lots of ammunition. Always pissed me off the way we end up the butt of everyones jokes. This is my opinion as to why it happens. Take it or leave it.

I maintain that we are very quick to run around like headless chooks after a couple of losses. In the pre season we do tend to jump on the bandwagon but we are particularly good at jumping off. Perhaps it is just this board.

spot on...will be interesting how we perform against the blues....history in last 20 odd years tell us it could be not the outcome many on here are predicting...blues been the new fairytale story playing 1st game against an old rival....BLOWOUT....and with that will come the rest. ;)

At least he speaks intelligently and can string more than a few sentences together.
Great point ,at least he can do that.

He can use that excuse until the young guys grow into "mid age range players" you clown!!!!! We can also have a proper structure when we start getting some of the injured blokes back- Simmonds, Richo, JON, Thursfield, Kingsley and even Casserley will all add to the structure significantly. Pattison & P Bowden return this week, hell, even young players in Edwards and Peterson have had/are having injury worries but I guess that is TW's doing and poor coaching ability as well!

We have come a very long way with this list in just over 2 years but he and Miller/Jackson are re-building from easily the worst list of players the AFL has seen. It takes time, and others are still to be delisted, but be patient, they will be removed and replaced with better players in time.

The spin doctor at work.

Have to agree. He uses so many excuses it's just not funny. He isn't as great as what I thought he was 6 months ago.

6 months ago takes us back to last September. Seeing we haven't played since August, what has changed?

His suntan, his his hair colour.............? ;D
