Sorry, refresh me here, Maverick. What changes have been made to the priority picks?

well GOJJ
now if a team gets 16 points or less, they get one priority pick but it's after the first round.

if they get 16 points or less two seasons in a row, then they get one priority pick  before the first round.

anyone correct me if i'm wrong

Thanks DDT, it wasn't really headline news over here.

It would have been nice to ask why, if TW and the RFC recognised after finishing 12th in 2005 that our list wasn't up to it, we only took 3 players in the National Draft.

I'm sure if it isn't being asked now it will be asked at the end of the season. Especially if we finish in the bottom four and the Hawks with their total rebuild actually finish above us.

Terry did say something that was important.

With all the rest of the rubbish being spoken about, you would have missed it if you hadn't been listening intently.

The point was that the senior players have 6 weeks to show that they can be competitive. If in 6 weeks time the senior group have proved themselves incapable of being competitive, then Terry said that he'd rather be uncompetitive with a group of kids.

This is the most refreshing news to come out of the RFC for nearly 12 months.

i agree, i thought it was very refreshing

yeah, sounds ok to me,our senior group are never going to win you a flag.

harsh but true,

better to plan ahead ,prepare for the future than try and tread water.

There's a few reasons you wouldn't play a lot of kids this early in the season. Tonight against the Saints, they're going to be physical and they're a strong side physically, be a great experience for the kids to be worked over physically on the field and on the scoreboard....NOT. Richmond travel early and that isn't the ideal environment to introduce young players into. Coburg has not yet played, so the young ones haven't even had a chance to get on the park in anything approaching a real match. The Carlton game seems to be the right time and it is not a reflection on Carlton.

:clap
me likes a thinkin man

just because you have a mans body and many pre seasons behind you does not mean you play a physical game,
i give the following examples:
tivendale, bowden, bowden, gaspar, kellaway, richo, johnson, simmons

its whats between your ears, whats in your chest and what the club demands
