Besides 'tradition' and one or two half heated arguments like young kids being unable to watch what is the problem with a night GF? So what if there is no GF breakfasts, they just become lunches. Sometimes tradition has to give way to progress and reality, if the game does not move forward and evolve then everyone who wants to retain all that tradition will get it - a second rate suburban comp with little to no interest outside its traditional base.

Moving the game into prime time will also no doubt lift ratings in the non traditional states which like it or not are vital to the growth and survival of the comp.

For mine, having experienced NRL day grand finals and night grand finals, the day grand final leaves the night one for dead in terms of enjoyment.

What nonsense. The football provides the central point of a great day, starts at 1pm with lunch and rolls through till 6pm and dinner and then depending on your family/ lifestyle you do what ever you want.

Gives everyone the option to choose what is best for you.

Grand Final is also the opening of BBQ season. The BBQ goes away all htrough winter and resurfaces on Grand final day with a ceremonial luncheon of the finest meats.
