Tyrone Vickery

I think Vickery is going through a trough, but what he brings to the team in height & mobility at CHF is invaluable for team balance & structure.

Just keep playing him, he'll come good eventually. When he does, he'll be a defining factor in the success of this team.
Phantom, thats just chystal balling. Why cant he find his feet at Coburg?

More over, when do we reward performers in the seconds if we are going to gift under acheivers games in the hope that they find form?
Sounds like the Australian cricket team system of selection.

No, conditions didn't suit.

But, even then, the team benefits by having a mobile 200cm target, even in the wet.

Wish I could have been there today. What was his effort like tonight? He seemed to be thereabouts on the tele - contesting pack marks, doing his bit in the ruck in spells and working hard at ground level.

I think he'll come good - could be as early as next week.

effort was good

worked hard and was aggressive at the contest

too good a footballer to be out ofform for too long

Has made miller redundant

To a degree, yes.

But can you go into a cricket match without a wicket keeper?

Sometimes you have to play certain types, regardless of form, because they play a particular role.

What does Graham, Derrickx and Browne have to do to get a chance to help out Maric? And seriously Phantom, how many poor games is some one of Vickery's reputation allowed before he gets a chance to recover his confidence in the competition designed for just such a curcumstance?

Effort was excellent. Threw himself at every contest. It didn't all click but it will if he keeps putting in like that. The Mullett's two goal square marks were a direct result of sublime TV tap-outs. And how was the bit of play in the last when Griff gathered it off his bootlaces and handballed to Tyrone, who danced around Guerra and ran away from him. Two 200cm monsters who move like wingmen.

Tapwork was very good!
He actually had the highest hit out to advantage % of all the rucks on the ground I heard.

His game was ok at best but I agree that his effort was outstanding and he was in a lot of contests which was very important for us.
It will come, we shouldn't forget how good he was last year.

yeah he'll be back. I've got complete faith. Not unusual at all for a young tall to take a step back for a while, lose confidence whatever it is. He got that good that quick last season remember. Footy form is not a ratchett

There were times against Hawthorn when Tyrone was fierce. Big improvement in his weakest area atm. More of that and the rest is inevitable.

And showed a bit of finesse a couple of times. Last year he showed very good co-ordination and touch - especially for such a big bloke. Saw signs of it returning on Saturday.

On watching the replay TV was better than I initially thought. Competed no doubt.
Didn't clunk many marks but provided a strong contest at CHF and relieved Mullet Magic in the ruck. That combo's working pretty well for us.
Structurally looks better without Miller too.

Yep. He looked like he had much more energy. That is the benchmark for Ty. Effort is everything.
