What does Graham, Derrickx and Browne have to do to get a chance to help out Maric? And seriously Phantom, how many poor games is some one of Vickery's reputation allowed before he gets a chance to recover his confidence in the competition designed for just such a curcumstance?
Against the Hawks I noticed Vickery working hard, running hard to contests etc, he is learning from Maric, Vickery is the future, The players you listed above a re battlers, they are not the future and that was proven last year.

Get off the drugs Zip he'll be lucky if he gets 5 touches this week !

only the highest talented 200cm players get regular games of afl, give vickery a break, blind freddy can see he will be a future star, for a big bloke, has good skills, a strong one crab mark, and his turning circle is really good for such a tall player,is also very good on the ground, maric, jamar, jolly, west, just to name a few, didnt come good or cement places in their afl sides till their mid-twenties

Amazing turning circle - should be called The Compass (of the drawing kind). Extremely important for a forward who has to turn 180 degrees to do the job they're paid for.

Needs to step up. Worrying form. Just looks slow and doesn't get involved enough and I've been patient and a fan from early on. Lucky Riewoldt has carried him the last couple weeks. That hard goal he kicked somewhat made up for his shocking 3 quarters where he couldn't hit a target by foot and cost us a couple goals.

Great goal and I thought he showed signs of improvement.
He made a couple of errors but overall a good contribution.

I agree Barnzy. Hopefully he's forgotten some of the clangers and that clutch goal sticks in his head to give him some confidence. He seems a bit out of sorts, I hope it's only a temporary confidence glitch. He's an important piece to our setup. Step it up TV.

Look very slow and lacked a lot of confidence last night imo. Hopefully with that last goal he starts to believe himself again a bit more.

Structually though he was good as he dragged away a defender and allowed Jake to have less numbers around him.

Disagree. Last night was definitely a step up. He presented well and moved far more than I have seen him all year. I also noticed that he provided options many times that went unrewarded which is important for creating space in the forward line.
He made some poor errors last night for sure but last week was a step up in effort and involvement and imo last night was a step up again. Still a long way short of last year but taking steps now. Looking forward to a much better 2nd half of the year.

Why are people hating on vickery? Apart from a few blues, which even our A graders did, he presented, he kicked a crucial goal. So much upside and is gaining some form.

The places he is running to makes you think he is the decoy - but then he gets furious they don't kick 50m cross goal passes to the far pocket. There were plenty of times last night where Jack had led out to CHF and instead of sprinting to the goal line with his smaller opponent he jogged to the far pocket 25 m out and just pointed. He is not slow, he is not lazy, he just has forgotten how to get dangerous.
