I was wondering if any UK PREers can recommend a good venue to wtach the GF in London? I'm guessing it won't be too hard to find a place but a few suggestions would be appricated.

Don't know where you are in London Colonel, but here's one option:

I won't be there but PM me if you want a number to contact. There'll be quite a few there I'd have thought.

What's the standard of the leagues they have over there? Has anyone gone to watch a game?

I've played, coached and been President of the Wimbledon Hawks in the BARFL in variois seasons since 1996 (except the last couple of years). The main league here has to be half Australian and half from the EU. You get plenty of good Aussie players (guys that have played AFL, been on AFL lists, VFL, WAFL and SANFL players and top country players) so the standard from them is pretty good. Unfortunately the standard is brought down by the EU players learning the game. Very competitive though. White line fever is just the same here.

I'm moving over there next year but I'll be in Leeds. I just found their website but it looks like they only have 7 players lol.

There's various teams dotted around the UK, who only play every couple of weeks during the summer season (mainly due to travel costs and lack of numbers.)

With most Aussies being in London, that's where the strength lies.

Might be more info for you here:

Thanks for that. I'll be sure to check out the club once I'm over there, only looking for a bit of a run.

The Singapore Wombats have a big event this year. Forget the free flow booze and grub, the following boys will be in attendance:

- Fraser Gehrig
- Dean Cox
- Mathew Capuano
- Leigh Colbert

I trained with the north London Lions a couple of times in Regents Park. It was like footy training anywhere. Love the BAFL.. go Bulldogs!!
