Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

Umpire no. 10 YOU WERE A JOKE throughout the whole game. The 3rd quarter saw him controlling the centre area and we were punished accordingly. I didn't notice the other 2 umpires that much.

The umps always call play on the instant Rance gets a free or mark. I'll admit he tends to be twitchy, and sometimes he unnecessarily moves off his line while he's still weighing things up, but he gets called to play on regardless of what he does. sh!ts me right off.

Just on this, I reckon our backline gets the hurry up/ play on call including kick ins far more quicker than other sides get, sometimes on a kick in the player gets the ball straight away and the umpire is calling " move it on, play on " and his barely had time time to llok at his options and then you see other teams get what seems like an eternity to move the ball on.

Crows 2 more free kicks.

:rofl

I think we are the only team in World sport that gets a negative free kick count on our home ground.

The discrepancy was even worse at 3 quarter time.

I thought that the team that goes in first and tackles hardest gets to earn the free kicks more?

NOT RICHMOND.

JOKE.
Not only that smash, but off the top of my head we've dominated the Crows, the Ducks and the Dogs and got fewer free kicks in each game. Normally the dominant team gets more frees, and usually, rightly so.

Yeah, number 10 was terrible. Is he from Adelaide?

Happened to Port on the weekend as well. They were playing for time for some reason and would often have a player who was not going to kick out go get the ball and then place it in the middle of the goal square on the ground and then run away from it like it was a wasp nest. Umpire would yell "hurry up" and another player would rin in from near the 50 metre arc and as soon as they picked up the ball the umpire would call out "move it on", wait one second then "play on". Must have happened 5 or so times. No idea what Port were trying to accomplish. But good on the umpires for forcing them to play the game.

I think hell would freeze over a thousand times before Richmond got a freekick count in a second half of 14 to 4 like the Hawks did last week.
I'd have to frame it and hang it up next to Bradman's highest ever test score.
:hihi
Will we be behind yet again in the free kick count?

Last encounter we won by 67 but yet again the umpires didn't reward our first efforts to the ball as spook has mentioned.

Fluro maggots we are watching you.
;D

what's the bet we miss a few legitimate high free's because apparently we are now serial duckers

Forget west coast and the Selwoods or the biggest offender Joel, the media decides that we will go after Jack after 1 high free on the weekend ::)

Pleased to see Chelsea Roffey as a goal umpire. She is one attractive lady and adds a bit of glamour to the game. Wish one of the Fox stations would interview her. She is very proficient as well as being very attractive.

Just seems to me that everyone has now accepted that when a bloke with the ball and is tackled that brings the bloke with the ball to ground is automatically "in the back". See so many of them paid where the tackler HASN'T got into the back.

Just to state the obvious: we lost the free kick count. Yep, the team that one by 10 goals lost the free kick count!

I thought in the main the umpiring was pretty good.

I actually thought we got away with a couple that could have been paid in the backline that weren't as well as a couple of marks that I thought should have been paid.

I didn't think the umpiring was all that bad ( although the more te game went on the worse they got) but seriously, is it just me or do we always end up on the negative side when it comes to frees? Even when we win easily!
