Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

Finally the media are having a look………

THE UMPIRING AT THE MCG ON SUNDAY

Richmond supporters were livid. They had every right to be. The free kick count was 20-11, but that wasn’t the problem. The problem was the number of free kicks umpires didn’t pay when it appeared the Tigers had earnt them. Time and again, the Tigers would lay a tackle and not be rewarded for incorrect disposal. Salt was added to the wound when the Dockers, at times, received free kicks for incorrect disposal by the Tigers. Once again, confusion reigned about what exactly is prior opportunity. The more cynical Tigers supporter would say ‘what’s new’. Over the past five years, Richmond’s differential between free kicks for and free kicks against is -332. The next worst side is Hawthorn on -108. How can that properly be explained? Is there a vendetta? Or are the Tigers just sloppy or too aggressive with their tackling? If this was politics, a Royal Commission would be demanded. And if this was politics, we’d love Tigers officials to have parliamentary privilege so we could hear what they really think.
Where's this from?

Those figures if true are so damning nothing can be that one sided if it's a flip of the coin. Those figures point to someone more deliberate

Geez these bastards are quick aren’t they? Its only bee; happening for 7 years or so.

Just take out a full page advertisement in every newspaper and put that article in it.

Ah we’ll, if the clubs all good with it then what can we do? As I’ve said multiple times members will simply stop turning up if they feel like we’re not getting umpired fairly game after game. It’s already started happening from my circle of friends.

How the *smile* can every teams average fees against all of a sudden go down when they play us? No other way to explain but to say it’s blatant cheating.

We are not getting the frees all other teams are getting!!!
It does feel like a stacked deck. I reckon Richmond people have had a gutfull of us being umpired differently to every other side.
It's like getting blood out of a stone.

Funny how the two teams with the worst record are the two most successful for the modern era

The first time I’ve seen a journo start questioning our lopsided free kick differential. It’s about bloody time.

I think our “frees for” might need some adjustment

The problem is the AFL run the game the same way China runs it's country . Anyone who dare speaks out against the way the game is run or decisions made is punished and pushed to the side never to be heard from again. No one with any standing in the game will speak out even if they believed we were being given a raw deal

I’ve got us last in previous 5 seasons (not including this year) at -325, next GWS at -108, then Sydney -98 and Hawthorn -71.

Including this year (but not this round) I have us at -365, then GWS -143, Sydney -103 and Hawthorn -77.

This is from AFL Tables data, and matches the 2017 to now data that Stoobes posted earlier
