i know they arent the reason for our loss today but it is just gettting beyond a joke.....im watching the essendon v melbourne game now and they r no better either!! Something has to be done. how come a player can get absolutely drummed (like krak and hall should!!) but the moment u say sommething about an umpire, u get slapped with a huge fine..these guys are the just untouchable....its a disgrace. i saw one today with a wedding ring on....does mail order bride come to mind???

absolutely. how come they always seem to get it right in finals but in the home and away season... DUDS!!!!

the umpiring is so so so so so bad, some of the decisions today, mostly against us was a joke

Quit blaming the umpires.
There is no conspiracy.
We were crap.
Yes we were, but that discussion is on another thread. To the question at hand, yes the umpires are ruining our game.

The umpiring was pathetic today most of the free kicks went the Dawks way

Yeah you're right...let's stick with the flow of this and the "other" thread - The umpires were terrible...only Richmond made them look better.

umpires have never ever ever judged fairly when we play, its happened forever and wont stop. there are always 2 sets of rules when we play

The decision against Pettifer on the wing would rank as one of the worst decision of the year. After kicking the ball, his leg hit the Hawthorn guy high as it returned to the ground. What's the ga,e coming to if you can't execute the key skill in our game without giving away a free kick??

Yeah, nearly fell over when I saw that one paid against Pettifer! :-X >:(

Also, the Krakouer one, where he dived on the ball to get it, the Hawks player fell over, and was awarded a free kick for 'tripping'.... :o >:(

The Pettifer 'deliberate out of bounds' one against Freo another "highlight" of the umpires for the year....unbelievable stuff! >:( >:( >:(

The thing is, with 3 umpires....what one umpire will pay at one end of the ground, the other umpire might have a different opinion at the other end of the ground, therefore one team gets an 'advantage', purely because of a different person's opinion of an incident.
One umpire is the way to go...least the decisions will be more consistent for the whole game.

Secondly, its always fun to see "cheap" free kicks paid to the team thats been ripped-off close to the end of a match....or back in defence.
Makes it look good for them, when you look in the newspaper on Monday morning, and see that the Hawks and Tigers had a similar number of free kicks, when in reality...they had the bulk of them when the match was up for grabs, and we got our in "junk time"! ::)

All I ask for is constinency between decisions for an entire season - the umpiring heads have a responsibility to see to this, not to concentrate on one or two particular things one week, then others the next week. Maybe there are too many tiggy-touch rules?

And as a disclaimer, again I don't blame the umpires for any of the two losses out of our last three matches, however I do believe that some of their odd decisions may have had a detrimental effect mentally on our guys. That's something the club has to do something to deal with it seems.

Ms Tantie.

Today was the worst I had seem.

Was watching with a mate who goes for Lions and he even said richmond got screwed by the decisions today

Umpires can go to >:D

1. decision against staff for a fair bump
2. pettifer, whatever the decision was for
3. kraks trip wjen going for the ball
4. some bloke pushed foley in the back then rode him like he was a horse

umpires should be made to explain there decisions on a special 1 hour edition on TV every week . would make interesteing viewing

but one hour wouldnt be enough

Yer, those bloody white so and so lost the game for us today - if it weren't for them we would of flogged the hawks today....bloody grow up and smell the roses. Umpires dont loose the game, players do in our case with soft, inept performances on ocassions where they should actually win the game.

Add when Mitchell's team mate collided with him in the centre in the last qtr, yet somehow was awarded a free for high contact when his own teammate made the contact  ??? :help :-\
