Universal love for The Richo Man!!!

What a great photo. :)

I'm gonna hate it when he retires. Think I'll start saving for a 1st class airfare from London to make sure I'm there for his last game.

Great to see him getting the respect we know he deserves.

I find it largely hypocritical. Richo has always been the whipping boy from the experts and footy public. Suddenly lots of people are changing their tune. are they just moons who didnt see how good he was from the start ? or are they all just bandwagon followers ? Get stuffed i say >:D

Ooooh i am an angy boy tonite.

What a good read.

Yep, gotta love the Richo Man chant at the 'G, worth sitting or standing near the grog squad just to hear it, even if our chances of winning go south, the squad still sing it every time the big man goes near the ball.

I think people are getting on the band wagon because they know think the end is nigh.

I hope the Richo man goes on for at least another year or two, or three......

agreed. It will be a sad, sad day when he retries. I only hope when it comes for his and our sake that timing and injury allow him to play a proper farewell match to say goodbye.

I agree 100% JK

It really annoys me at games the way the opposition supporters continually bag the Big Guy when he has one of those rush of blood moments that don't always work out for him - but they ignore the fact he has been busting his gut all day for his team - and he seems to be working harder as he gets older - he never gives less than 100% and should be a great example for the younger players. It will be a sad day at Tigerland when he hangs up the boots. I pray that we can see him wearing a premiership medallion around his neck one day - but unfortunately we don't have another 21 guys that give their all like Richo to make up the rest of the team needed to do that. And he is not getting any younger.

The Cho's contribution to Richmond cannot be underestimated. Sure, he has been well remunerated throughout his career but he is the gift that keeps on giving. He has kept many of us us coming through the turnstiles in otherwise dark times. He has given the young tiger supporters a reason to stay loyal to Richmond. Conservatively I estimate 5,000 young tiger supporters who will become members directly because of him in the future. 5000 x $150 x 20 year members = $15m. That is what you call a franchise player and we salute you big fella!

Brilliant reading all that at BF....especially when so many of the posters are known richmond...

Seen him since his first game and every game since, been some great times and some bad times, he is a true champion of the game and the day he retires will be a very very sad day for all richmond supporters...

Long live the "Richo Man"

Totally agree, was speaking with a die hard Hawks fan recently who mentioned that he felt Richo was and still is one of the best.

My oath he is, ive said this before if the tiges had won a flag or 2 in the last 15 yrs, they'd have him up on a pedestal...

Its great that people are finally acknowledging "what we've known for years" that he is a champion footballer...

What has been more remarkable this year is that the Richo man chant has been heard in hostile territory such as Freo and elsewhere which is testament of the passion only Richo could invoke amongst some fans.

Funnily enough, way back when, the guys who are credited with starting this thing off were sitting behind me in the Southern Stand started the chant and it was hilarious. By the end of the game they had half the MCG following their lead. Then next thing I know the same guys are on the footy show doing the rendition.

Hence a legend is born.

Wasn't it Rex Hunt?

Let's hope he can play for another 2-3 years and that we can somehow give him a tilt (it'll only be one at best) at a flag.

Absolute star and shining light in very dark times for this club.
