The AGM is fast approaching. does any learned person on here have an inkling as to who may be standing for the board.

We already have Gary March as president....not with any endorsement by members....and Penny as the new lady on the block. From memory, there are three existing board members standing for re-election. Are there any challengers. Having posted this, I suppose there will be the usual wish list names thrown up, like Rexxy Baby and Crazy John. What I would like to know, is there a genuine challenger or two out there. Dare I say it......Phantom or David Clayton????

Any news anybody??

The members never have a say in who's president Gray. That's decided amongst the directors on the Board.

I am expecting an election to be needed but guess we'll have to wait and see who actually throws their hat into the ring.

I think there's a place for a grass roots supporter as a director. Not necessarily rich or connected or top lawyer or accountant but someone who is in tune with the needs of the masses.

I think that would give a more rounded balance.

hmmmmm, yeah i hear what you're saying Rosy but is it bringing a lot to the table if all a director knows is to take a scarf to yell baaaaaaawl at the footy and knock down a 4'n 20?

Corporate management
lawyers
accountants
marketing people
footy managers and media people will do just fine for me.

They all know the pies and coke are too bloody expensive.

Always thought that the club went the wrong way about finding members for its Board.

At most clubs, the Executive make it their business to know the whatabouts of all its members. From this point, it would be in a much better position to invite particular worthy individuals onto sub-committes, then upon performance, the Board.
This happens at our local club, as it does at many others.

I know that the RFC is taking its first small steps in this regard.
Too much of the Tiger history has seen a very insular Tiger Board, where way of entry has only been by individuals or groups wishing to overturn the powers that be.
Methinks that if the Tiger Executive became more proactive in finding more potential Board members, and starting them at a lower level, then a stronger, more vibrant, Tiger Board would evolve.

If this was the case, at present, then we Tiger members & supporters would probably know who our future Board members were likely to be. At present, I don't believe this is the case.

I second Phantom's motion
