Useless Players

I only have ONE problem with this sacking of Wallace and that is the USELESS players. Richmond have a playing list that is viewed as mentally soft and under developed.

Now all of a sudden the coach is gone, it doesn't take some of these USELESS players long to think sh!t I'm possibly next, better pull my finger out here and make sure I'm around next year and the year after that as well.

So suddenly the USELESS player starts to perform on the training track and if they get a game or two they play above their normal USELESS self.

The powers that be in the club, suddenly start thinking sh!t maybe we've made a wrong assessment about Player X, Y & Z, perhaps if we delist or trade them they will do a better job somewhere else, we'd better keep them because of Gold Coast and Western Sydney.

Result, the USELESS player secures another contract even if its for just one year, they've taken the spot of a potential draftee or rookie. The USELESS player once their financial security has been guaranteed then reverts back to being exactly what they were before USELESS.

The reason I raise the above, is that this is exactly what has happened in the past from Northey onwards, coaches get the chop, useless players suddenly perform on the training track and in a couple or few matches and they're resigned for a couple of years, only to revert back to their old selfs and do nothing for anyone at the club, least of all contribute to a winning culture.

Those in the club must now fully focus their attention on the players and specifically which players will be around in 2010. The club must get RUTHLESS with player performance on the training track and on the field. Mentally soft players should no longer be tolerated, its one in all in and everyone pulls their weight on the field to win, simply nothing else will be good enough.

What sacking?

I wrote the topic before the news got around that Wallace may not be sacked after all.

Still and all its a pertinent point. We've got some useless players at Richmond, its time they got told to move on.
