1983 night grand final, and we were robbed by the umpires.tigersnake said:great stuff Taraba. Bit scary, you are scarily like me!, except I never chucked away a pie due to an early grissle encounter though, sacrelidge, down the hatch.
I still can't beleive the AFL jettisoned Waverley. Pathetic short term thinking. Urban cycles turn, in a couple of decades or less the inner city might be so choked and the comp expanded so the AFL have to build another ground on the outskirts. It was a good ground, its extreme weather was part of its charm. The only problem that needed solving was the transport, which could have been solved.
My stand out memories are my dad pranging the combi 3 times, including a donut van, trying to get out of the car park after the 1977 elim final defeat by north. Was he snakey! And in 1982 (?) our woodwork teacher and footy coach took us to the night GF between Richmond and Carlton for winning a couple of Herald shield games. JJ and Bortolotto punching on before the siren, then a massive all in brawl erupting around us in the stands as Mr D tried to shepherd 40 year 9 North Tech boys to safety. Pretty funny looking back.
Really good film taraba. Amazing how crap the surface had become, it used to be so good!
Hahahaha you just summed up my life in a sentence :hihithe claw said:your an idiot and a fooll and me copper mates are coming to get ya.
well done.
Well sometimes I persisted with the pie (especially if you were lucky to get a really crispy one) but was always scared of getting another grissly bit. More often then not I would just fork out the extra cash for a super dog. They were the best at Waverley.tigersnake said:great stuff Taraba.
