Yes, I noticed that too, last week, but don't know why. Yes, and I too thought the Sunday Calder/Eastern clash was the metro game to go to.

Also noticed that Jones isn't playing for Dandenong. Also Bowe from Benigo.

I find it funny that Kelleher is now alternating each week between FB and CHF. I suppose it's his way of telling the world how adaptable he is. Wouldn't mind him down at Tigerland.

yeh.I'm a bit of a Kelleher fan too.

He's a little short for true KPP but I'm prettty sure he'll become a decent AFL player.

Yeh, I noticed that Footydraft has him at no.38. That'd be handy if we got him. A real Peter Dean type.

Vic U18 Cup: Knights slay Dragons to grab eighth
25 July 2005 Herald Sun

THERE was a change in the TAC Cup's top eight for the first time since Round 8 on the weekend, when the Northern Knights edged the Oakleigh Chargers out of eighth.

Round 14 was one for upsets with four of the six matches won by lower-ranked teams.

The Knights' 75-point win against fellow finals aspirant Sandringham Dragons at Preston City Oval on Saturday, coupled with Oakleigh's three-point loss to the Western Jets yesterday, saw them leapfrog into the eight for the first time this season.

The Knights and Dragons were among the form teams heading into the match and the Knights carried that form into the contest.

Two goals up at quarter-time, despite giving Sandringham first use of the breeze, and a seven-goal second term, saw the Knights blow the margin to 53 points at halftime on the way to a 19.16 (130) to 8.7 (55) win.

Coach Neil Connell said it was "something special" to record three consecutive wins for the first time since 2002.

He paid tribute to the team's leaders for the recent form.

"Our top age boys have all stood up the past three weeks and led the way," Connell said, referring to players such as Bronik Davies and Cathal Corr.

"To have a 75-point win against a side that's around us on the ladder just shows our boys that we are improving, because the first time we played Sandringham, they beat us quite easily.

"We've just got to maintain it."

Skipper Ryan Jackson, Paul Currie, Nick Carnell, Ben McKinley and Nicholas Lynch, who kicked eight goals on Saturday, had also been good.

The win moved the Knights to 7:8, a game ahead of Oakleigh and Sandringham.

There were changes at the top end too, with the old of the top two by Gippsland Power and Dandenong Stingrays loosened a little by the North Ballarat Rebels.

While leader Gippsland was back on track moving to an 11:4 record with a 109-point win against last-placed Bendigo Pioneers, Dandenong suffered a third straight defeat, losing to the Murray Bushrangers. That dropped the Stingrays to 10:4.

North Ballarat drew level when it defeated the Geelong Falcons by 28 points.

The bus ride to Warrnambool proved no obstacle for the red-hot Rebels, who made it seven wins in as many weeks with a 20.6 (126) to 15.8 (98) win.

The Western Jets came from 26 points behind at three-quarter time to record a fantastic 13.11 (89) t0 13.8 (86) win over Oakleigh.

The Calder Cannons beat third-placed Eastern Ranges by a goal.
