Standing on the outside looking in, after reading the interview on AFL.com today it's quite obvious - always has been - that the one thing that matters to Terry the most is himself.

Two bits of the interview stick out like dogs balls to me though..
Your proudest achievement in footy?
It would have to be being best and fairest in a premiership year (Hawks, 1983). All the other awards are nice, I suppose, but to be voted the best player in the team that won the flag – by the people at the club - can’t be topped.
The fact he wants to talk about individual honours more than what he was able to achieve as part of a team and...
How do you feel about not winning a flag as a coach?
There's no doubt that it's a case of being in the right place at the right time. I have a winning record against several premiership coaches so I am confident in my abilities.
The two clubs I have taken over were 15th or 16th so I never received an armchair ride like some have been fortunate enough to get.
Well, that last comment just astounds me, but shouldn't come as a surprise, he's been throwing this crap around for 5 years now and I find myself wondering how Punt Rd is still standing and not burnt to the ground with the amount of posturing and back-pedalling that Wallace was committed over his tenure at Richmond( Does he truly believe other coaches got an armchair ride?), including his inability to take responsibility for the list, the game plan and any of the team or lists short comings.
I really did struggle to read his comments in this interview though as he almost broke his arm trying to pat himself on the back for a job well done, seemingly without the knowledge that he'd just taken a club for a 5 year ride to nowhere...anyway my thoughts are more succinctly put by a fellow Hawk over at HHQ

HHQ said:What a ridiculously self centered interview.
He cops a bit Terry, but that is pathetic some of the things he says in that interview trying to talk himself up in each question, even if not directly sometimes. Making a point of taking over teams that were placed down the ladder as if he got a tough deal. What kind of coach with any pride would bring this up? Surely great coaches wouldn't say something like that? Well, that is why you are no where near a great coach Terry.
He is a selfish coach, and it more than comes out in that interview.
I've heard him take credit for the state of the Dogs list after he left and 2 years into the Tigers job. I've heard him talk about how Hawthorn had the better list before he took over Richmond, then afterwards in 2007 he stated that we had it easier because we had more 21-26 year olds on our list than they did.
I've heard him complain about a short break between games, then two weeks later complain about having a 9 day break and his players weren't "match hardened".
In this interview he is claiming credit for several things to do with the game. He also states his biggest achievement is the best and fairest he won, not the premierships he won. I think that stands out for me.
Good riddance when you go Terry, I've had enough of your spin and crap, and thank god you never coached the Hawthorn Football Club.
