Wallace has to go (Episode XIV, Merged)

Wally just said he is going to 'make changes.'

FFS ::)

Yeah bring in Hyde. We missed him terribly today.

If this idiot brings in Tivendale & Pettifer, what value does he see compared to bringing in kids?

If the answer to that is to use experienced players and win, then it clearly shows again that 'development' and recruiting in the draft is a black hole for him.

Wallace better start thinking deeply about his own performance rather than just criticising his players.

Ever since Sanchez made that stuff up in the 1st Q, we lost the run & drive that could've lifted us to a 7 goal lead.

Wallace is too fixated with quick fix players rather than development. Proof shows with his fantasised ideas on continuing and hoping that skinny players (McGuane, McMahon) and hacks (Tiv, Pettifer) will one day breakthrough.

Tambling & Lids are nowhere near their best mainly because the atmosphere at this club is sub standard when you consider that players like Pettifer & Tivendale are the so called 'seniors' for our youngsters to get advice from. Cotchin made some dud errors today and it worries me on how long it will take for him to get into the Lids & Bling mentality.

*smile* off Wallace and stick with your media career.

True Tigerforce

We do need to get rid of these serial offenders who only know how to lose games

We need to do this quick before they infect all our young players, who will do the same as this will be their teachings

Footy environments are a big factor, and young guys taking advice from some of our imposters will only stuff up their careers, great talent can become average talent when they land over here.

As bad as he was atleast Spud got us into a finals, this wankers done *smile* all.....

i agree, when we where playing well a month ago, we didnt have tivendale, bowden or peiffer playing, and to me , with these guy on the ground we look older and look like me not moving forward. morton should never have been dropped, Play the kids wallace its ur only chance to keep ur job

This is an important time in the club's history.

Not because it's the 100 year anniversary of Richmond playing in the VFL/AFL.

The reason is that if we don't get rid of the likes of Tiva, Bowden and Pets now, how do you think the younger players will go in 5 years time?

Richmond will not get the best of them- that's a GIVEN - make no mistake!

"Fly with Turkeys as opposed to Soar with Eagles"

If these younger players can't deliver, what then?

Once you make the decision to go forward with youth, you can't go back.

Wallace has done this - so he is totally responsible.

Wallace is not what he seems to be and the Club should be embarrassed for taking him on.

I don't think Wallace has what it takes to be a successful coach, let alone a premiership coach.

The five year deal is too long.

Five years brings you to a mindset that we have longer than expected to do well - you go okay in the first year, then the mind becomes laxed in thinking that you can accept falling off the rails because you have plenty of time to recover, however this can slowly gather momentum into making the mindset accept mediocrity - a club that accepts this will never prosper unless radical changes follow. This might be the time for those changes- on and off the field.

it's very much like the first quarter today. We had a real chance to put the crows away in the first quarter as we were 24 points up and we could have easily nailed in two more goals, BUT WE DIDN'T - this was a crucial time in the game - we could have broken the crows back in 30 mins, but we unravelled in 120 - we could have done it the easy way or go down in heap the hard way. Wallace should have stabilised the side and at the very least, hang onto THAT lead some-what, or go further ahead - instead....well you know what happened.

well this thread pops up after every loss ... i used to think many Tiger supporters were optimists, but now thinking its more like pessimists.

anyways on this weeks game.

i thought Wallace's move of King on McLeod was a good one and worked well early. i also loved it when i saw the line up of Tambling, Lids, & Cotchin in the middle for a few centre bounces in the 1st quarter (yes some of the youngsters do get a go). also liked Brown in the centre with Johnno out.

The 2nd half was disgraceful. I think some of the players rather than Wallace should take a good look at themselves. Skill errors were terrible (that kept in it in the 1st half as well), options taken bemusing, and effort to stop the onslaught non-existent. Did we buy new footy boots this week cause they were all scared to get them dirty. Why the handball to someone and then another to someone under the pump. take the first option and kick it to an open forward line. and did they have 19 men on the ground cause there was always someone 40m in the clear. for f sake. Losing Will was a shame cause it unsettled the backline (and showed his importance) and made a huge difference.

on players .. Tivendale - terrible. career looks over. can understand his promotion with good form at Coburg but he got found out, again, at AFL level. bye-bye. Pettifer - slow, wasteful, & unaccountable. only good when we win. fatten him up & trade him. McMahon - made many fundamental errors today. was very poor. think he can play but needs a kick up the ass maybe by getting back to Coburg. Polak - average footballer. looks and plays lazy. can't kick for goal. Pollie, look at Richo and get inspired. show some passion. Edwards - has to improve. you can't wait around for easy possesions. present yourself like you want the ball. Lids - kick the ball!!!! enough said there. Tuck - in trouble. too slow. handballs too much. Ruckmen - beaten in the middle (did we get a hitout?). Umpires - disgraceful. made many confusing and soft decisions. should be tested for performance reducing drugs!!!

other mentions .. Bowden - unlike others i think he deserves a spot, presents well, is footy smart, and makes use of the ball. Brown - should play more in the middle, i liked it. Cotchin - as for Brown. only thing though don't always look to be to cute with handballing. kick it. Newman - next captain. Richo - run Forest run. superstar! Tambling - Improving with each game. Sarge - great effort up back. threw his body in. Will - recover quickly champ.

Wallace - don't blame him for looking to win games this year. i mean why would you play to lose for the benefit of another coach? when finals are out, which looks likely now or in the near future, is when he will look to next year. he has hinted at changes as a result of the last 2 weeks. lets see some youngsters put there hand up tomorrow. Wallace should stay till at least the end of the year.

A bit harsh there on Tambling and particularly Lids TF. Tambo was OK today and Lids was good. Cotch was fantastic for his first year despite some errors. Put those three with Foley and they are our only future at this point in time.

I'm generally a brightsider, but... I'd be happy for Wallet to go this wek - provided the next guy in has the courage (and support of the club) to really change things up. 10 picks in the ND is not crazy. No trades except to receive picks (I would rather 10 new 17yos with potential to fill list needs than 1 Judd or Brown)

I hate the idea of tanking and despise the fact that we even have to contemplate tanking... but I would rather see people like Polak, Hyde, Patto, Graham, Jackson, Schulz, Hughes, Collard, Cartledge on the ground for the rest of the year rather than worry about a win (the season is shot, so lets focus on finding out whether this lot can play). And leave Petts, Tivva, Bowden, and Suger in the firsts for the rest of the year (give Bowden, Tivs and Suger the dignity of retiring whilst playing in the firsts and hopefully give Petts the chance to show some value for trade)

Well wasn't it great to watch Benny Hill and his merry men today. Honestly I had to laugh as Benny Hill's (Wallace's) quality game plan went into action today. He sure is an entertainer for the crowds who come to watch his merry men entertain with their hapless handballing, sideways kicking, stationary moving, comical theatrics.

Getting serious now this is a very concerning situation in my opinion. Wallace will find a scape goat or two but the fact remains that this side is playing his game plan to perfection. Wallace has to go and right now! Richmond need to pay him out and go after a proven coach with half a brain like Williams, Malthouse, Matthews etc before the fringe fans just give up after years of frustration.

Put the big $$$ on the table and *smile* him off now! The Richmond board surely needs to discuss his position this week.

Unless Fremantle come to the party, no one is going to want any of our duds. Every other club knows what Pettifer is like. I don't care whether we trade or sack him - just give him a ticket out of Punt Road.

Bad news is none of those guys are going anywhere and I personally wouldn't want Williams. Love Malthouse or Matthews but they aren't going anywhere.

I wouldn't sack Wallace, but I would get rid of Royal and maybe a couple of assistants, bring in guys who will challenge Wallace and present new ideas. Royal maybe great at certain things, he maybe a great bloke, I wouldn't have a clue, but him and Wallace have been together too long and are too comfortable in each others company.

Miller should be gone as well. We had something like 10 first round draft pick playing today and only Cotchin and Lids looked anything like first rounders. Miller must take responsibility for this.

Newman was disappointing for me. Gets a lot of possessions, but Thompson killed us and kicked 6. When thats your oppenent you have to be accountable.

Where do we find another 10 Cotchins This guy is gonna be good with a pre season under his belt and looked like his lack of pre season affected him in the 2nd half, but he is genuinely showing what a lot of others have failed to deliver

I notice Tezza`said AGAIN today how the players let the match comittee down again......

Its the freaking match comittee that lets us supporters down by selecting the same old players that are just not upto it.
Enough of this crap spin of Walla$e blaming the players the match comittee are the ones that picked them.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The Wallace/Miller duo does not work, we do not need any more time to see this.

Our players are capable, blind freddy can see it, we have been in winning positions and lost 3 times this year, when we should have gone on to win easily.

It is obvious our players are being taught and developed incorrectly and this can only be rectified if this duo is removed as soon as possible.

This is not a knee jerk reaction, it has now been 4 seasons and we have not progressed one bit.

Continually calling on the likes of Pettifer, Tivendale, Hyde and Tuck, and recruiting McMahon and Polak has set back the development of younger players enormously.

We need people who will make the tough decisions, not pussyfoot around picking proven losers and recycled nohopers.

We need to move and move now!
