It was reported tonight on the box that Terry did not did not take training today and instead flew over to see Sydney V Carlton at the SCG.

Two things:

Can Terry afford not to be present at training considering it's a 'big' game against Melbourne, and why the hell does he want to see the Swans when we play them in Round 6?

I have the feeling Wallace knows he is going to be around win, lose or draw against the Demons, or maybe he's found an excuse to make the last interstate trip with the RFC's credit card.

Yeah I guess Terry has some big plans up his sleeve.

good on him, the Sat training session would have been no more than a few touches and get a sweat up. Give the bloke a break FFS

If the assistant coaches are taking the money they do and cant handle the task of taking training there would be something wrong.

If we were 3-0, or 2-1, or even 1-2 with some good efforts, there would be no issue with Wallace missing training and going to Sydney scouting. We are only playing Melbourne after all, and the players are supposed to be professionals. If he can't have the confidence in the group to manage for a training session without him, then we would have some really serious problems with the club.

I take a positive view of this then, and say good on TW for sticking to the task at hand and not worrying about what people will think or say. If he needs to go and watch Sydney, then I say go and do it. The easy option would have been to play it safe and not go knowing the media scrutiny he is under is likely to generate more media comment and inuendo.

Wallace obviously thinks we will beat Melbourne, and so he should. Beat Sydney and we are back to 2-4 or even 3-3 and things don't look anywhere near as bad.

I don't think there's much doubt that would be the case. There's no reason to believe otherwise really considering what Gary March has said all along. The only way I can see Terry wouldn't still be around if we lost to the Dogs would be if he walks out and I can't see that happening, especially as he made that clear on On The Couch. I hope the club honour his contract while carefully assessing the coaching situation for the future, whether that includes Terry or not.

Exactly we complain about hysterical reporting here but we're just as bad with threads like this.

Agree,we will beat Melbourne anyway

I dont see anything wrong with that, would we even have a full squad on the track the day before? If anything its a light on run at 60-70%.

Its logical if this is the only game he can watch sydney play in before we take them on.

I think it's impressive that he would sacrifice a night with his family to fly up and back to Sydney for the benefit of scouting a future opponent seeing live rather than just watching the tape. It's impressive he still has the hunger.

Not everything he does is bad.
