Wallace on Bowden-did I hear right?

Bowden's PRE President welcomes him back into the side. Prove the doubters wrong JB!

Do you honestly think you can compare these two players in their roles in the team Goodies?
Seems like fairly different types to me. One brings something to the table that the other does not and vice versa but comparisons are off the mark IMO.

You'd be better off comparing Joel to Moore, McMahon & Polak IMO because they are the guys who have taken his place, not Lucky Luke who is a genuine tall defender.

Leysy reckons u absolutely can ToO.

Forget height for a moment, Bowden is a tall. He has the strong body & reading the flights of high balls that all talls have. He's also played all his best football when played on Rocca & the like. Its no co-incidence.

Am also constantly amazed at posters that say Bowden has had it easy as LMID. He had very very very rarely played this role. Wallets recruits in P.Bowden & Polak etc have got the easy gig. For years Bowden has got the best key forward. That's fact.

& Sure there attributes are at polar opposites, but the players they are suited to playing on are very similar. That makes the comparison relevant for leysy. McGuane's done enough the past couple to hold his place but to be truthful leysy holds little hope of him being an accomplished AFL player.

Anyways it looks to be a moot point as Wallet has chalked Joel him out of the backline, which is no suprise as he was failing on mediums when Joel is far from a medium himself.

Hopefully his readin of the play & poise can be of benefit to us up forward, he's got the pride in himself & his game to make a fist of it.

Sorry Daisy I can't forget the height for a minute because Luke whilst not is tall enough to do a genuine stopping job on a big forward.
He also has a much greater leap than Bowden and is more athletic.
I also think McGuane works much harder off the ball. His pressuring and tackling is very good and that is a big reason he's getting a game.

Joel has better skills in other areas for sure but based on this years form and with future planning in mind, structure wise I prefer McGuane as a tall stopper to Joel.

Seems Terry does too.

I'd prefer Schulz to McGuane in that position though.

Agree. McGuane. Pfft.

At least you can see that McGuane has done enough to earn his place atm.
When a better option steps up to replace him I won't be defending him but I think he is doing ok currently.
