Crap rule, change for the sake of change. >:(

The AFL rule makers are panic merchants who have overreacted, I think it will be scrapped by Round 12 and go down as one of the AFL's biggest balls up in th histroy of the game.

Actually check that the AFL will see that the rule is ruining the game but not rectify it because they will not want to be seen as stupid but will be pig headed and keep things the way they are.

Totally agree. No need for such a rule at all. LEAVE THE BLOODY GAME ALONE and stop trying to justify the existence of the 'rules committee'.
 
if they're looking to introduce a rule in an attempt to stop flooding, they should have brought the "play on if you kick backwards" rule. we could call it the "onside rule" (because it is sort of the opposite of the offside rule in some sports)

but in all honestly i think this new kick in rule is a storm in a tea cup. i don't think it will have much effect.

Why don't they appoint a committee to come up with that idea?

That'd be a grouse idea and a grouse committee.
