Is that a fine?

Why would you get a fine for that? I heard it, Demitripoo might get a bit upset but that's a personal thing nothing to do with the AFL or the game.

umm because the rule states an official cannot bag anything AFL. Just a thought.
His comments followed a pre-match attack on the priority pick rule on Triple M when Wallace light-heartedly compared the AFL with TV sitcom Happy Days and likened its chief executive Andrew Demetriou to "the Fonz" because he could never admit he was wrong.

AFL spokesman Patrick Keane said clubs were entitled to disagree with rules and Wallace would not face any penalty.
And Keane said Demetriou was not upset to be called Fonzie because "the Fonz was always cool".

"(Demetriou) said it would have really hurt if he was called Potsie," Keane said.

That's refreshing to hear. Demetriou must have used some of his salary to buy himself a sense of humour.

The football world has had a gutful of Demetriou and Anderson. Their bureaucratic handling and de-sensitizing of the game, combined with their political dance floor routines and their unbelievable “head in the sand” attitude, has all reached the point where even the journos (refer Millhouse Sheahan’s article today) are calling for the Commission to step in and do something about it.

Agreed Redders.
The coaches, administration and media are sick of the 'we can do no wrong' stonewalling of these prats.
When you have guys like Wallace, McGuire and Sheehan openly criticising them surely they'd want to be doing a pretty comprehensive review of some current 'improvements' at season's end.

Well I'd like to know how the Commission goes about reviewing the performance of the AFL executive. How often do they do it, and what's involved ? There's more to being a successful AFL executive than just negotiating the TV rights imo.

Given the Commission is appointed by the clubs (at least that's my understanding, anyway), I'd also like to know what or how the review of the Commision itself takes place, and what say the clubs have with the Commission.

As Sheahan suggests, its time for some high level pressure to come to bear on these 2 egomaniacs.

GoodOne I recon it is more like Demetriou using some of his massive salary to employ a PR specialist (as they would need to be!) to make it appear that he has a sense of humor. I recon his sense of humor is about as expansive as that of a sheet of corrugated iron.

That's how it sounded to me also.

hope a real concerted effort by the footy loving masses rises up now and kicks this lousy stinking inept arrogant megalomaniac right out of office

Sorry if this has been explained elsewhere, but does anyone know?.....

What happens if the same scenario occurs next year? Does Carlton get another priorty pick over and above ours?
eg
carlton picks 1,3,18
Richmond picks 2,4,19
?

Fonzi will probably just make it up as we go along. But if the Bluesers win less than 5 games next year after having a monopoly on the first round for the past 3 or 4 years, they deserve to be banished to the Amateurs.

Which Section. The choices are D1, D2, D3 or D4.

If both clubs win no more than 4 games next year then the priority pick before the first round of the draft would be available to both clubs, I'm guessing but I think the first pick would logically go to the team that finished last as in this scenario both would be entitled to an early pick where this time only the Bloozers get the early pick.

People are running out of patience with the Blues. Several articles today basically saying that they now have their umpteenth number of sub 20 picks, so the time to stop dribbling on about "we wuz robbed when unfairly punished for salary cap violations", and 2008 is the year they must move forward. Not holding my breathe ::)

Correct.
