There is a possible happy ending to this situation. At the moment it all looks bad for the RFC damned if they do and damned if they don't. And TW won't come out of it any better if he is sacked or coaches out the year as a lame duck coach with 2 wins.
I think TW will fall on his sword after a mutual agreement is made with the club. This will come in a few weeks time if we are 0-7.
He can say: "it is clear we are not going to make the finals, therefore my contract will not be renewed next year. So , in the interests of the RFC moving forward and being able to look at an interim coach and also to be able to freely canvass the market place for the best coach for 2010, I have mutually aggreed with the Board that I will stand down as coach effective immediately".
This mutual agreement includes the paying out of TW's contract. In doing this TW comes out looking good and the RFC looks good. The media will be disappointed and within 7 days after Brian Royal or possibly Wayne Campbell have coached their first game, it will all be over. TW will be commentating football games before RFC play their first game without him.
