There is a possible happy ending to this situation. At the moment it all looks bad for the RFC damned if they do and damned if they don't. And TW won't come out of it any better if he is sacked or coaches out the year as a lame duck coach with 2 wins.

I think TW will fall on his sword after a mutual agreement is made with the club. This will come in a few weeks time if we are 0-7.

He can say: "it is clear we are not going to make the finals, therefore my contract will not be renewed next year. So , in the interests of the RFC moving forward and being able to look at an interim coach and also to be able to freely canvass the market place for the best coach for 2010, I have mutually aggreed with the Board that I will stand down as coach effective immediately".

This mutual agreement includes the paying out of TW's contract. In doing this TW comes out looking good and the RFC looks good. The media will be disappointed and within 7 days after Brian Royal or possibly Wayne Campbell have coached their first game, it will all be over. TW will be commentating football games before RFC play their first game without him.

Good work, now you can tell us who the Caretaker is.

I don't know much about the candidates really GPB. There is no real standout which says something about the assistants TW surrounded himself with. I can't think of one example of a possitive impact any of them has had. If there was a hardnut amongst them, they would get my vote. King's hardness as a player obviously has not rubbed off as a coach as we a so soft.

Campbell- the sentimental favourite but we have had enough sentiment at RFC lately. He would need to coach harder than he played and if he wants the gig next year would need to perform as caretaker.

Royal- No for mine. Has the smell of Wallace all over him.

King- Hard player but hard coach??

Rawlings- Maybe, sure not to get the job next year but gets something out of the Coburg players. If he can have Shulz kicking 6, Morton kicking 6 and Pettifer and McMahon getting 36 possessions around the ground then maybe he will be good.

McRae- I know nothing about this guy other than he played in multiple flags at Brisbane

I won't really be surprised whoever they pick. We need to choose whoever the committee sees as being best able to instill the basics back into the mindset of this team. If we can get back to basic football skills with a bit of passion thrown in for the rest of the year, then the new coach will have something exiting to work with next year.

Wallace just wanted to get the 500th milestone as player and coach.

That alone allows me to nominate Wally for Coach of the Century.

Errrr...there was about 50 posts to this effect, many could see it unravelling the way it did and indeed advocated so it should.

No crystal ball awards here, sorry.
