At the end of the day, Wallace wants what Miller used to have (and therefore he had access to), and thats the power to trade as he sees fit. He has been making noises about it being a good draft for trades, and wanting a big fish, and all of that points to Kerr. Question I have for you, are you happy to give Terry his power, knowing it may mean trading pick 8 and one of our better young players (and we are talking at an absolute minimum Tambling - forget Raines and JON) for Kerr?
For me, this is exactly why we have CC, and exactly why Wallace should have influence but not final say over the trades.
He wants Kerr because he saw what Judd did at Carlton, and he knows that odds are with Kerr we will make the finals next year. Problem is however, we are yet again trading away a possible 10-12 year player, for a guy we will get just 3-5 from (given the wear and tear his style of play attracts). Wallace is trading for 2009, but CC has his eye on the long term list development.
Nah - I think we agree with each other T74. Previously I wanted to keep Terry but with a more restricted role in drafting (certainly not letting him top-up the list for his own purposes). Now I'm leaning towards giving him the flick altogether. I don't think his coaching ideas are going to mesh with our long term plans.
