Wallace's Fifth year of his Contract

We already have a better percentage than all teams out of the 8.
If we win against Essendon next week and North lose to Collingwood and Carlton lose to Sydney we will be 9th.

But then there goes the few very good players in the draft.

Footscray has been re-engineered under Eade. Each player Eade has recruited has been bigger than the one he replaces. And miles more physical. Jordan McMuffin, anyone?
Not to mention the statement by several Bullies players that over the pre-season and this year they have concentrated on being stronger at the ball and particularly in tackles.

Bloody hell haven't we had enough high draft picks?

It is well and truly past time for this club to change our pathetic culture and to start thinking WIN, WIN, WIN......................

Finals or not make winning the sole objective every game.

Good to see claw float in, post his irrelevant crap and duck back out!

No comment on the game claw?!

Don't worry WT. He is a self confessed Bandwagon supporter.

Gave away his ticket because he couldn't face watching his pathetic eagles get flogged yet again. Had nothing to do with the Tigers.

Bloody Bandwagon supporters.

As Oldie said, softer than Pettifer. ;D And thats a low blow >:D

Haven't you been reading his posts this season monty?
Clawsy wants us to pick up a wooden spoon, of course he wanted us to lose yesterday.
He was going for West Coast.

Actually I think I saw him at the game. He was the poor bloke a couple of rows in front of me constatntly fidgeting with an Eagles scarf who didn't know whther to laugh or cry.

Come to think of it, the ground was full of people in that situation :hihi

They're a miles stronger unit this season, aren't they Redan?

If we focus on strength and skill in our recruiting from here on we can get this right.

claw - this one is obviously purely hypothetical - but I'd be interested in your response.

What would you prefer - of the following?

A 2009 Premiership with Wallace as coach
OR
B 2009 Wooden Spoon with Wallace sacked straight after the last game?

I think many are being as bit harsh on Claw. RFC's demolition of West Coast was without nearly all the players(except maybe Bowden and Schulz) that Claw has been wanting out for years. ( Pettifer, Tivendale even Richo albeit injured).
On the headline issue, what worries me about posters on here is that many would now renew Wallace on the basis of yesterday's game.

But ask yourself a question, why can we string 10 goal plus quarters together against Carlton a year or two ago, Freo and West Coast this year, but still be at a negative win loss ratio and still not ever be considered a real chance ( I am refering to the bookies) against the top sides?

This is still a fragile team, although yesterday did much to relieve for the future after Richo retires and of course it does look like in Cotchin we have had a god fall into our laps.
In finishing I can remember Richmond returning from the wilderness in the last part of the 1979 season and you felt 1980 weas going to be special. I hope that RFC can demonstrate for the rest of 2008 that this is a launching platform going forward. Not until then would I even consider renewing Wallace after 2009.

first of all, your the only one who has suggested we all would like to "renew Wallace on the basis of yesterday's game" so maybe you should consider redrafting that whole post again with the that thought in mind.
