This has probably been discussed to death here...but I'll ask anyway.
Did TW do everything possible to keep the big sook at Tigerland ?
Normally when a newly appointed coach takes over...players that have been down on form can get a new lease of life and rise to the challenge.
Was it soley money that Ottens left us ?
Did he really need a change of Club...wasn't a new coach change enough ?

Having said that...had he stayed...he probably would be struggling right now just like all the our other experienced players in the side now.
He looked very good against the Eagles today...just like he did in his first 2 years with us.
Get the feeling he will be playing in that last Saturday in September.

Add salt to injury to our season...but hey he had the smarts to see we weren't any good or perhaps he was just lucky...he is a traitor in my eyes.

Why is this being revisited now? Because he played 1 good game out of how many for Geelong? We got the better out of the deal he wanted to leave he left end of story.

I'm sure someone in here has the full insight to his departure...and I just want to know.
I couldn't give a flying EFF otherwise. :-X

This is my explanation of the Otto situation. He didn't like Richmond and wanted to get out. It wasn't about $$$.

thanks Rosy...yeah I just thought TW's salesman skills would have come to the fore and he probably did throw everything but the kitchen sink at him to stay.
Hate is such an ugly and strong word...why did he hate us I wonder ? If that's the case I hope he stumbles over his cat in the dark tonight and breaks his leg. >:(
Oh stuff it...let it be...he would have been a sooky sooky la la if he was still at Tigerland.

No and no. He walked away and good riddance to the slug.

We got a good deal for the Ottens trade but we may have botched the draft picks.

He has a heart like a pea, I'm glad he left and no amount of injuries will make me think differently.

It's not good having a player that doesnt want to play for the team. Won't give 100% when they play (sounds like some of the current list).

Ottens is history. We got a great replacement in Simmonds. Its time to move on.

Happy to see the back of him. Plays the same soft, inconsistant, passionless game for the Cats as he did for us.
No loss.

Effectively, we punted him. And rightly IMO.
