Watching the replay on Foxtel last night can someone tell me why some parts of the game were edited out?Mostly happened after a goal. You have the commentators remarking on the goal then in a split second it would go to the bounce. On about 5 occasions it missed the bounce altogeather.
Is it bad editing or Foxtels/Ch9 playing childish games at ch7,s expense again?

It is just Foxtel condensing the replay time. Good idea I reckon. Who wants to here Watson and Co lament another Tiger schemozzle.

Watching the replay also confirmed to me that the push in the back interpretation seems to have changed!

Tuck attempts a snap on goal, gets pushed in the middle of the back at full stretch which has him falling forward over his kick which slews out of bounds. Pies rebound for a goal (mid third term).

5 minutes later Schulz is on the lead, had his opponent done and dusted, but gets shoved full in the middle of the back AGAIN DEFENDER IS AT FULL STRETCH - again umpire is in perfect position to call it. Schulz goes flyin under the ball and umpire doesn't have the GUTS to call it 20m out from goal AGAIN in front of Collingwood ferals. To make matters worse, ball rebounds to the other end, this time we are able to clear to half back where Polo is grabbed by the foot, tripped and dispossessed, Collingwood goal. All in a vital 10 minutes during the third term.

Bowden pushed in the back second term by Rocca who marks but fortunately sprays the kick!

Compare those decisions to the Tivendale holding the ball decision where he was tackled almost before he had possession, ridden into the ground, and pinged for holding the ball!

Richo mark 20m out directly in front 3rd term not paid.

Fraser mark over Richo while Prestagiacomo takes Richo down by the head!

Don't tell me a feral rabid crowd don't affect umpiring decisions!

Interestingly i saw a few push in the backs in the Essendon v Carlton game not paid as well.

Ch10 went to an ad as the 3rd (I think) Q was starting during the Dons Carlton game... they went to that "gimme that, gimme that, gimme that thing..." ad

Great coverage.... not :P

Washry you know your typing skills amaze me, and I'm grateful you've taught me a new language, but I can't work out how you got that flash C thing at the start.

I would think its just time constraints for Foxtel programming.
Fair enough if it was their 2hr replay but this one was the "Full Replay"

I noticed it in their replay yesterday which had to finish by 3 for the Adelaide game, but I just put it down to sloppy editing and time constraints. I hadn't watched any other replays before that one this year.

If thats the case its a joke MB.Foxfooty was able to handle the full replays within the 2 1/2hr limit. Was hoping it was a one off.

Not good Skipper as I would think this will happen all season.

This was the first game of Channel 7's this year that I have really taken interest in. It was also topical given the ad in the HS the other day bagging 7's coverage.

I reckon I've picked the problem. It's the audio that they run. Channel's 10, 9 and Foxtel give the viewer the full atmosphere by providing great audio of the crowd. Channel 7 didn't. I ws amazed that there was 70,000 people at the G because that didn't come across in the coverage. The audo reminded me of the Italian soccer games where the crowd audio is dull and the commentator sounds like he's commentating off a monitor in a sound studio somewhere.

I'm definitely no techo so wouldn't have the first clue about how this can be rectified but just something that I picked up w watching the Channel 7 coverage on Friday night.

Yeah I was thinking exactly the same thing BrisTiger. Sam Newman & Chanel 9 are correct in bagging Ch 7's technology.

I think it's Ch 7. You can tell where the edits are. Because Ch 9 was in partnership with Foxtel they got a complete tape of the game. It looks like Ch 7 give Fox the edited version. I'd love for Fox to redub it with their own commentators rather than the amateurs (sorry Dennis) that work for 7.
