Wayne Campbell - Midfield Coach

More like the fact he played injured for most of the season.

If he wasn't fit enough he shouldn't have been on the park. You've said the same thing before yourself.
My problem with Foley this year (I like him, but he's been down this year) is his disposal has been shocking. 9 clangers in round one against Carlton as an example. Disposal efficiency was 72% to round 14.

As for our rucks, St Kilda has a *smile* ruck division for years, but it didn't stop their midfield playing to it's potential. What about Geelong with that terrorfying ruckman Mumford. Lucky he's so much class or Ablett and co would really be stuffed.

I agree and so would Nathan I think. ;)

campbell has done nothing to improve the midfield, we play the centre bounces the worst in the league. constented poss might be up, but there is no system and no game plan. i dont like the bloke and dont think he could help us only if he walks.

The person some seem to think has the most elite skills to ever hit Tigerland had 5-6 clangers and 54% efficiency last week...and not that many of those possessions were contested.  Plenty still gave him votes for best on ground. Same with Tambo. 5-6 clangers and 48% efficiency from memory and given heaps of votes.

Nathan was being jabbed when he needed resting and I hate reading him be bagged for doing what was asked of him.

wasnt Nathan carrying an injury into round one?
Poor guy has been severely restricted this year

Then skip the posts. Last I checked, you are allowed to post your opinions still here. And my opinion is, his season was fairly crap by his standards. Compared to JON however, he was still all australian.

What's with the attitude people have on here tonight? Did I suggest in any way you can't post your opinion? You're as welcome to do that as I am to disagree with it.

Agree, but we need to give all the coaches the sarsparilla, from King to Campbell to Choco to all the others. F.O and make way for some new blood.

Massive dud as far as midfield coach goes.

He might be honest and unrelenting in his appraisal of people, but jesus our midfield has slid so far backwards this year, and we've had some younger blokes stepping up and improving. Absolute disastrous move.

Wonder if he has anything to do with Foley becoming so mediocre....

I don't know enough about Campbell as a coach to have a opinion. I think there are too many intangibles (there's that word again :hihi ) that affect a team and the way they play to easily say...sack the psychologist or line coach after a year.

I think it is very hard to judge RFC on the field this year, there has been so much of a upheaval and with Wallace coaching for his career we have no idea how much he influenced things. Either to the ninth degree in influencing set ups/positions or psychologically.

I do know our line coaches have not worked anywhere near as cohesively as I would like, of which the blame falls purely on Wallace and his management style.

Good point about rucks and midfield. One thing on Mumford though, I've heard a Geelong player speak about how he is respected down at the club because his 1%ers are high. He might be raw, but he lays blocks. shepherds etc for the midfield apparently and that is why he has been promoted as he assists the midfield.
