PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Now will probably get a bit of a negative from this one but looking at the lists I honestly think out of Richmond, Carlton, Essendon and Collingscum our list is looking better than theirs with a view to 2009 onwards. I reckon we should have and could have won about 8 games this year with a better run with injuries a bit more luck etc. We have blloded many young plyers this year and yes I think have some gaps to fill still maybe 5 or 6 players short of being a top 4 team in the future. We need another ruckman, 2 more strong bodied skillful onballers and a key defender or two. Also think we are in better shape than Melbourne and I expect us to be around 8th to 12th next year with 8 to 12 wins a possibility. We are on the improve but still need to get our recruiting spot on in the next 2 or 3 years. I think FJ done a great job at the last draft and hopefully he can continue the good work in the next few drafts. I have been disapointed in this year but I really do think we are heading in the right direction. Some early wins next year will set us up for a good year this year we didnt get the early results we wanted and our confidence fell out after the Geelong debacle. We also need to be spot on with our player development manager as I believe this will be a huge thing for our younger players. One other thing I hope we keep Shultz and Meyer as I think they still offer us something but only if they want to stay. Otherwise trade them we only want 100% commited tigers going forward.
