Well you should temper it with a best case scenario too then. It aint all negative. Out of Craig's list I still have hopes for Polo, who has had a very bad run of injuries and I think with a full season behind him he has a chance to show his best. Agree also with McGuane, he has improved out of sight. Still have reservations about him making it but you have to give him credit for his improvement. I also wouldnt write of King. Came off a very good 2007 and was injured for a good part of this season. Wasn't right when he came back and couldnt quite understand why they rushed him in so quickly. And I'm not as negative on McMahon as some. Certainly he had his fair share of bloopers this year but his good work is always ignored being the current target of many because he was taken at #19.
The over 30s are a given, their time is near but other than Richo and Brown (who didnt get on the ground too much anyway) the others are already covered by up and comers, allbeit nowhere near as experienced.
Hislop and Thomson, writing them off pretty quickly I would have thought. Am confident with Thomson not so much Hislop. Graham, tink his time is limited especially if Putt and Vickery live up to expectations, Hughes this is his year to prove himself, Raines, no, too many of his type who are better than him, Edwards I have high hopes for, biggest concern is his frame, and Polak well let's just be glad he's alive and well. Coughlan looks raring to go, dont under-estimate the guy.
Anyway the point of the thread I guess is that unlike previous years there ais competition for spots this year. In the past you would have never had Bowden or Pettifer or Tivendale dropped. We now have players competing for spots. I have often thought this year during games how in a number of area on the ground we had options, choices. It was a new feeling.
Bottom line is its not all doom and gloom.
