Richo remains, after all these years, the only Tall that can take a mark inside 50. When will we unearth another? Too much is expected of Richo! An extra decent tall will enable us to play more direct!

I know we can't but Polak would be the one.

past recruiting says we can't afford to have Polak anything else but back.

Polak showed today he cant kick a set shot for s**t. Hows Hughes going? Didnt he put on 10 odd kilos over pre season. Also P.Bowden may be another option

That's what Jay is getting paid to do isn't he? Just hope I live long enough to see it actually happen.
The picture in the HeraldSun the other day with Jay taking a mark over the person with the 'bag' is indicative of a problem we have. The old saying of "you play as you train" is as applicable today as ever. The 'bag' isn't going to try and hinder your path to the contest; neither is it going to try and spoil the ball and neither is it going to contest the spilled ball to keep it in your area.
If you're going to play deep in the forward line you have to be able to take pack marks. The best way to take pack marks in games is to practice pack marking during the week at training. That means spending 1/2 hour or so practicing, not just mucking around with the pre-training kick to kick. It is mindboggingly obvious that we can't compete with the better teams in the contested ball scenario. Whether this is because we don't train under sufficient pressure or we just don't have the personnel capable of replicating the kind of pressure we face during a game on the track I don't know. I suspect it's the latter. Whilst we aren't capable of producing game day pressure in our normal training drills then we will be condemned to the bottom quarter of the ladder. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

yes, and also while we are at it we can purchase one of Leigh Mathews old game plan books, we desparetly need to learn to play down the middle.

Maybe if Wallet decided to leave Schulz there for a whole game instead of taking him off all the time we would have our 2nd tall marking option .

Yeah one example was Tivendale today, he had a great game today, only problem was his delivery to the forawrds. At least twice he kicked it behind a leading forward, anyone else see this?
