Ok,

I'm the first to admit that I'm normally a "darksider"

Normally, I would be the first to bemoan everything that was poor tonight :(

BUT - having flown down for the game last week, and tonight watching the game with the Sydney Supporters (in Alexandria) there is this masochistic side to me that says - it wasn't all that bad - and we will WIN against the Pies!

I'm not sure what the logic is but:

(a) We could have got smashed, but we didn't
(b) it was probably the wake up they needed after believing the hype after beating the real Wooden Spooners!
(c) Richo, Bowden, Foley, Polak, King, Pettifer, Tambling, McMahon and many others had quite off nights - but - I'm not sure they're as bad as everyone is saying!

Time to take a deep breath,

Accept that we lost - and did so in an insipid manner,

BUT - recognise - that it's not total doom and gloom!

WE WILL BEAT THE PIES!
 
We often go ok against the pies. But today filled me with pessimism more than anything else. I think we'll lose by 4 goals.
 
We often beat Collingwood in a soft match where they are having a downer after a few hard ones or a good win. They will be chomping at the bit next week.
 
I agree with you.

I did say on another post I was annoyed with our game today, but for some reason im already over it and looking forward to next week.

Yer agree, it wasnt really one of those losses that really deflated the sh!t through me. It was sorta like a 'meh' game. Not sure why, but the players felt the same way.
 
Dunno if we will beat the pies but today was certainly better than the corresponding game last year against the Bulldogs where we were a lot more lazy and unaccountable than we were today.
 
Will we win when Wallace will play King on Rocca, Howat on Cloke ? At least Raines isn't there to be the bunny this time ! What ever happens we wont see the likes of Polak on the big guys will we ?
 
Agree and I also have confidence of beating the Pies ... reasons

On ballers will not have a downer as they did tonight
We have the backmen who match-up well against the Pies (ie. Rocca/Davis/Didak)
Our clearances and hard ball gets will be better than Pies
Brown will not hold Richo as he is Brisbane's Brown and Freo's Pavlich rolled into one (pace and strength)
Pie rucks are not as big/strong as McIntosh

... Sorry forgot ... Tivva's back ... only joking!
