we won? big deal. nothing to get excited about

oh cmon. the only question you have to ask is are they good enough. if the answer is no to both dont muck around dont carry players for the sake of it like we aklways do bugger them off and ffs it could be pick 420 in the nd he may be the diamond in the rough everyone hopes to find.

No the question you have to ask is how do we maintain a well structured list while turning over the team in a reasonable manner. I've said it before and I'll say it again you can't get rid of everyone in the 1 year, especially KPPs that will take a while to develop.

Totally agree. When the season ends, the players break should be cut back to just September only. Come 1 Oct 09, they all go away on a camp, where they are assessed with some really tough physical and mental exercises over at least 2 weeks.

Another couple of weeks can then be used to work on the players disposal skills and decision making. That way when the official pre season training starts you are already slightly ahead of the game.

Then and only then do you start culling players. The ones that show they can handle the really tough physical/mental exercises are the ones you keep. You know the type, never say die, pitch in at all times make sure your mates keep on going, when its a real grind, plus when you have do the individual type exercises, you just get cracking, no b!tching, just do it, it will finish and you want to make that finish. Failure is not an option, if you do fail, then and only then should you be looking down the barrel of being either traded, delisted or retired.

If the players don't like this sort of idea then that is just too damn bad, any poor attitude's displayed by players before doing such a thing, would go against them straight away, doesn't matter whether they are 18, 28 or 35, its time the players started to function as a team unit, something that to date is not yet happening.

Winning teams have winning attitudes and will go beyond the norm to make sure they win. Richmond are not even close to that.

Massai, if half the playing list fails "your test" we can't dump 20 odd players at the end of October. Therefore some of the "failures" will still be on the list. What would the criteria be to fail the test yet be kept on the list?

off memory the AFL/AFLPA has minimum holiday times for the players during the off season. Forget how big it is though

The club CANNOT afford to keep a player on the long term injured list, particularly a player with some sort of acquired brain injury.

Not agreeing or disagreeing but Polak is not on the long-term injury list. Remember the AFL wouldnt allow it.

The AFL wouldn't allow Polak to be a mature aged rookie. He is on the LTIL. The issue was that as a mature aged rookie we could play him at Coburg to test him out whereas we can't while he's on the LTIL.

Oh apologies then. I thought he was playing in Coburg's 2nds?

i wonder if the ferals will think there will be anything to get excited about on sunday when we get smacked by 10 goals +

I'll go out on a limb here and say that the only "dud" I'd punt on is Sarge. I want to see him play a string of consecutive games minus Richo and with our A grade midfield fit & firing.

what is wrong with you people when you keep throwing this up what you cant read english or simple strategies to hard to fathom. bloody hell a man should not have to put up with this when trying to have an honest open conversation.

bloody who has advocated getting rid of everyone in one yr bffs point out on one bloody thread where i have said that sheesh some people are disengenuous.

foe yrs now ive said its simple to turn over 10 12 players in one yr. this yr ive advocated we as a club plan for a priority pick and end up with something like this as far as nd picks go. 2 18 20 36 52 68 84 and perhaps a psd 4 rookies you can do 10 and not go past pick 68 what dont you like about this. what dont you understand how is 10, everyone bloody player.10 for where we are at is ideal imo.
defenders of doing nothing always throw this furphy up oh deary me you cant turn everyone over in one yr when no bugger ever actually advocates that, and i can tell you all it wears abit bloody thin having to constantly set people straight must be bloody thick the lot of you.

make no mistake the question is are they good enough whats the point of keeping a player for structures sake if they cant play the answer to that is none.

we dont have a well structured list we never have we have never done what was needed to be done to establish a well structured list.

as for kpps if they take longer its important you actually have kpps who you are reasonably sure will make it.especially if you refuse to load up with them which we have steadfasly refused to do. hanging onto kpps for no other reason than structure is just plain silly if he cant play get someone there who may be able to. hanging on only exacerbates the problem if this means you end up with 24 talls so be it find those who can play and weed back down to the ideal number over a period of time.

we know schulz is a dud 7 yrs says so get him out of the system and give someone a go who just may make the grade hanging onto proven duds for any longer than you must just crucifys you in the long run.simmonds is gone why hang onto him hughes looks like a dud pattison is no good polak is ordinary the longer you hang onto these blokes the worse it gets because it does take longer to develop them. the thing is we can keep them for now because as you say we cant get rid of all of them in one go but with this in mind would it not be prudent to load up with plenty of talls this coming draft. talls and genuine mids thats all we need target for now.

by not getting alternatives into your system first and foremost you put yourself into collingwoods situation with what they did with cam wood. they paid over the odds to try and fix a glaring weakness in their list because they failed to get young ruckmen into their system.

Pics 2 18 20 36 52 68 84?

We get someone with pick 2 who would be a quality player but would not reach his potential with out development coaches.

as for 18 onwards. When do we get anyone who will help us with those picks. Id get picked up with pick 84.

All I want to know is when they get a high draft pick does the toilet water spin clockwise or anti clockwise.
