Week 2-finals matches

Opened up the sports pages of the Sun today, and silly me, expected to see the Mudpies splashed all over the place, saying how they got the worst of the umpiring, how young they were, how the loss of Didak hurt them, you all know what I mean.

What did we get....nada, nil, nothing. Boy oh boy, when they win, they are all over the front, back, centre, you name it, but lose......nothing about how badly they played, or how the coach is under pressure now, who should be traded, etc, etc.

How different is when we lose a game. The coach is under pressure, the president is having a go at our coach, this player should be de-listed....once again you all know what I am talking about.

I should be thankful, I suppose, they are off the radar now. Some consolation.

BTW, wouldn't it be a turnup for the books if both the Saints and the Doggies were to win this weekend?? The mind boggles!!

The AFL is crying out for some elite players!

Ablett and Franklin are the drawcards.

Riewoldt is also elite, but not someone that I enjoy watching.

It's has just been a boring finals series. Sydney are boring and old, Adelaide boring, Collingwood boring, Kangaroos extremely boring, Saints boring.

Even the high scoring free flowing Doggies are boring me.

We need Richmond and Carlton in the finals next year.

It would be nice.

I still live for the day when Richmond, Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon all make regular finals appearances. Then they can duke it out against a bunch of Interstate interlopers and maybe a second-rate Victorian team or two.

Melbourne will buzz every September whe that happens.

Don't see that happening till another 4 years imo.

I don't see it ever happening as long as the AFL keeps throwing huge pots money at ill-considered expansion projects and smaller pots of money at propping up the poorly-supported Melbourne clubs.

I have no problem with chucking money at Melb, NM and the Bulldogs to keep them alive. But to then allow them to compete for players and resources on a level playing field is complete folly. Let them sit quietly at the bottom of the ladder each year while they are on life-support from the AFL and let the clubs that are keenly supported contest the finals.

Maybe it would be appropriate for clubs on AFL life-support payments to be automatically sent to the end of each round of the National Draft until they can pay their own way? This would at least ensure that more good players end up at clubs that are supported by the fans.

its got nothing to do with the teams, the games just havent been as good

buddy after the siren, eagles-pies last year etc all exciting moments compared to thrashings so far this year

You're right, but Sydney and the Kangaroos are unwatchable.
