Welcome Liam Baker

Had a good game in very weak company. Shaky around goal on the day. But works for a living.

Another great year from Bakes and probaly our best utility , doing a great job as a mini CHF, no *smile* poor one armed attempts from Bakes , anyway why don’t we give Bakes some midfield time ? Not saying he will or won’t do well, however was a midfielder as a junior is one of our toughest and best ball users

Speaking on Gettable, AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey said West Coast is one of the six clubs could "go really hard and target" some of the game's biggest names.

Richmond star Liam Baker is another name off-contract that could be in the sights of West Coast, who were interested in the premiership Tiger last year before he recommitted at Punt Road.

Twomey believes both English and Baker will be on West Coast's radar as they look to add to their young list.

"Liam Baker was a huge one for them last year, ended up staying back came pretty close to leaving. In the end they came really, really strongly for him.

"I think he'll be targeted again by the Eagles and probably Fremantle too. He's pretty settled in Victoria and could well be their next skipper as well, but I think he's one the Eagles will go pretty strongly at again next year."

Shouldve traded him this year if that's the case.
West Coast and freo will have the upper hand in the dealings. Both will be bottom 4.
So he could walk to them for free, Houli style.
Don't want any of there players, Top 10 pick would do it.
**love Baker Top kid but i love the jumper More. If Baker dosent sign before the bye Hartley better be asking for Top dollar in return.

Bakes wouldn't walk for free from a club that took him late and where he's won two premierships.

Totally agree with your comments. Baker is a loyal and likeable bloke who would ensure a win win situation occurs. The same with Dustin.

Bakes is very happy at Tigerland according to some people i know in Pingrup.

He is very close to his family, and his future no doubt is back on the farm one day, but they are all happy for him to pursue his football until he is ready to come home.

The farm will still be there.

We all love Bakes but depending on how we're looking at the end of 2024, him going home might help accelerate a rebuild. At 26, he'll have plenty of good years ahead so we would expect fair compensation. Freo has three first-rounders - theirs, Collingwood's and Port's - and we'd want one of those as a starting point.

Wont he be a free agent?

Nope, only 7 years not the 8 required to be a free agent. I agree with Ant also, that the PSD isn't a viable threat. No way would Bakes walk out on the club like that.
if he was to go back and the possibility of Dustin to gold coast. We could have 3 first rounders plus a number of second rounders in 2024.

They’d want to have a good golf course in Pingrup.
Bakes is obsessed with golf and plays 3 times per week.
He was off 7 a whilst back after only starting 2 yrs ago
