Welcome Liam Baker

They’d want to have a good golf course in Pingrup.
Bakes is obsessed with golf and plays 3 times per week.
He was off 7 a whilst back after only starting 2 yrs ago
Bakes and Broady have both appeared on “Playing Around” with Paul Gow. They are members at Kew Golf
Club (along with many other AFL players, past and present). Both episodes are worth a watch.

Just to clarify one thing regarding Bakes.

The family farm is actually at Pingaring, which is reasonably close to Pingrup but is not the same place. In fact Lake Grace (Nat Fyfe and Mitch Morton’s home town) lies between the two towns.

I know people in Pingrup.

You’d be doing well to know someone from Pingaring. It is a tiny place. I’d guess maybe 40 people live there. Maybe…..

But it certainly does have a golf course.

We all love Bakes but depending on how we're looking at the end of 2024, him going home might help accelerate a rebuild. At 26, he'll have plenty of good years ahead so we would expect fair compensation. Freo has three first-rounders - theirs, Collingwood's and Port's - and we'd want one of those as a starting point.
The Eagles should’ve made a play, Baker sets the tone for competitiveness. Changes culture.

Get Harley Reid, Get Bakes. Completely different footballers but compete like nothing else.

Bakes is very happy at Tigerland according to some people i know in Pingrup.

He is very close to his family, and his future no doubt is back on the farm one day, but they are all happy for him to pursue his football until he is ready to come home.

The farm will still be there.
If he goes too West Coast he could have 2 farms.

Just bought a membership at the National G.C.
At around $45k, don’t think he’s going anywhere

Been training with the mids and working with Newy and Ziebell, two blokes who couldn't make it as mids.

Sometimes the guys that have struggled to make a certain position have more idea how to coach others to success in that position

It looks like our Midfield will be mainly Taranto, Hopper, Bakes, Dusty, Meatball and Dow, with occasional bursts from Shai. The Wings it seems to come from Ross, Banks, Kaps and Pickett. It's still a pretty good midfield if Dusty and Meatball can play close to their best.

That's outstanding mail.

What's the midfield batting order for centre square footballers? Dusty, Taz, Hopper, Prestia, Baker, Dow, Graham, Pickett, Sonsie.
