Welcome Liam Baker

That's outstanding mail.

What's the midfield batting order for centre square footballers? Dusty, Taz, Hopper, Baker, Dow, Graham, Pickett, Sonsie.
Would be rare for Graham to take centre square. The rest look right.

Reckon McAuliffe will get a crack if he's in the team.

I love how Yze is pushing Bakes & DRioli out of their comfort zones & seeing what their capabilities are in more challenging roles.
This is exactly what I'd hoped to see & will open up opportunities for others in defence.
Be a big win if it works..

Yep. Bakes in the mids would be great to see, along with the responsibilities and leadership by the 2nd wave under Dimma.

I have both Short and D Rioli on the wings.
Both two way runners who will defend, but also love a goal.

We have several young players who need to be blooded at half back.

Trezise and Brown need to make their moves.
I have Trezise ahead on competitiveness

“WILL LIAM STAY OR BE TIGERS’ HEART-BAKER?

Jon Ralph
Victorian rivals have joined both West Australian clubs chasing Richmond’s Mr Fix-It Liam Baker as he postpones contract negotiations until later this season.
Baker re-signed, despite intense interest from Fremantle and West Coast, two seasons ago and is out of contract as a 26-year-old entering his prime.
Baker is content to assess how Richmond’s season unfolds with a new coaching team and game plan under senior mentor Adem Yze.
He has also been told he will be playing as a full-time midfielder this season as the Tigers again attempt to compete in the first year without premiership coach Damien Hardwick.
Baker is on a good deal of around $600,000 but with so many clubs boasting huge cap space – such as North Melbourne, St Kilda, Hawthorn and Essendon – teams are chasing quality midfielders.
Baker finished sixth in the club’s best-and-fairest last year and will join free agents Jack Graham and Dion Prestia, who are in no hurry to decide their futures.
The Tigers will be optimistic he will re-sign after stating when he signed his latest contract he was always keen to stay loyal.“

1st of all he isn't on 600k
More like 450k
And secondly he isn't leaving to go to North or Essendon.
*smile* John Ralph writes some *smile*.

West Coast would be silly not to have big interest in him.

Disagree with that.

They are miles away from contending and need a huge injection of youth.

Using draft picks on a 27 y.o (start of next year) is the wrong move for them ILO.

Fremantle may be the one's who make more sense depending on how they go this year.

We all love Bakes, but if we have a poor year and need to look towards the next generation - it wouldn't be the worst to lose so we keep stacking our draft hand.

All depends how this year goes which could be anywhere from 4th to 16th ILO. We're hard to line up.

Fremantle have a decent draft hand for 2024. They have currently (based on 2023 finishing order) 5, 14, 18, 32, 68, 79. So we could work something out with them.

However I am for keeping Baker - unless he is really keen to go back to WA
