All stats are unscientific. They're stats. They're statistical. I don't know why you keep using that word.

Do you genuinely think Short played poorly?

I'll be interested to see the coaches votes.
Unsurprisingly, Shorty collected 4 coaches votes.

This is called playing to instruction.

He absolutely nailed that game.

And on a beautiful September afternoon in the sun, he'll hit up targets all day too.

We are very lucky to have him.

Rated the second best tiger by one coach. Must have been that muppet Voss, he’s got no idea.

The PRE faithful provide a much more balanced view.

It seems the PRE faithful are just as balanced as the coaches.

Half think he was close to BOG, half don't have him in the votes.

But you know Hardwick gave him the nod.

The other option would be Hardwick had Saad at 4 votes.

Of course Hardwick gave Saad 4. It’s a subtle shot at Dan. And Voss is having a crack at the likes of Hewett and Kennedy, letting them know how *smile* poor they were. It’s how they vote when they lose. No way you give your own man a 4 in a loss. And Hardwick doesn’t like boasting when it’s not giving the team any advantage.

I thought Saad was pretty poor.

Ranked as a elite defender by champion data today.

Might be a slightly false economy as his midfield minutes might not have kicked in yet changing his status.

But his stats might have.

Do clubs use champion data in any meaningful way?

Have the tigers had the most elite players in our flag years?

Champion data, is the data source clubs use for everything.

No point having four elite if you have 18 other spuds.

Do they release a best CD side each year? I'd be intrested to see how many tigers players would have made it in our flag years. I would imagine only 1 or 2. Maybe none.

Would they have selected Dusty in a side purely based on CD stats?

For 2022?

Where is he ranked as a mid?
he played back the 1st 6, and mid/forward the last 7.

I have to say that I am a little surprised by the negativity over Short. I suspect he is leading our b&f.
He isn’t perfect, has a habit of bombing, but he is an excellent running defender and outside mid. He runs all day as well.
Remember he was a Dusty away from a norm smith medal.

Spot on. Great take. If he wins another B&F the melts on here will be first class.

The only recent negativity has stemmed from one game? And as pointed out, he got one of the coaches votes so perhaps he wasn't as bad as some like myself think?

And almost all PREtenders have praised the move to the midfield and the benefits to performance? He offers a point of difference to our other mids.

Elite small rebounding defender. Has been doing well in midfield. Can you be an elite #4 mid?

Physically inconsequential early (a half?). Lifted somewhat.
