Our most important player.
He scares the opposition.
Especially watching it live, they look up and they see Pickett. They hesitate, they fumble, they fill there jocks.
He has had a top year

Spot on. Pickett, the Rioli boys, Bolton… these blokes make opposition teams panic with their closing speed and hunting mentality. It’s our point of difference. Geelong will be sleeping with the light on now we have made it.

Plays a very selfless role, he and KMac are crucial to us in the finals.
Yeh, massively important. Other teams can have their Gaffs and Hills, these guys are the 2 best wingers in the game. Come finals their toughness and running ability could be the difference.

Does he now go onto the Primary list for 2023? or is he already upgraded from Rookie status?
cant put him on primary list until one of the list lodgement period starts.

Im guessing he stays on rookie list, we pay him whatever he is worth regardless of what list he sits on

Got a 12month contract extension.
Will be a rolling contract given he turns 31 next year, should finish this year with a minimum of 57 games, leaving 43 more games to reach the 100 to be eligible to his 3 sons if in fact they follow in their father's footsteps and are any good.
He will need to play another 3 year's to get there as even if he is fit and has no injuries the MRO will get him with suspensions so won't get it done in two:mad:

He shouldnt miss more than 7 games over the next 2 years, barring serious injury.

Taking a step back, it's such a beautiful thing to see how good the club has become for Indigenous players to be themselves and fully accepted into the fabric of the club.

I remember when we'd have 1 or 2 Indigenous players on the list on a good year, and while I never got any Collingwood vibes from the club, we weren't anything special in this area either.

Since 2010 or so, we've gradually become a genuinely good place for Indigenous players to be, and it makes the club so much better for it.

And it's not fake like Hawthorn's treatment of Cyril where their president didn't really care, we seem like a club that would go above and beyond for the player's family as well.

Cultural changes are always slow, so it's hard to pinpoint when something has improved. But for all the negativity that gets reported in the world, there's a true feel-good story with Marlion and Richmond worth celebrating

One year but with form and staying injury free there are at least 2 years left in him. Overall is getting better year on year.

Should have got 2 years imo. He's pretty durable so should be able to get to 100 games by the end of 2024, but the pricks at AFL house are doing all they can to stop us from getting his kids as F/S.
