Where's Balta on that list?
Balta unfortunately not tracking so well at 37.9%, however he’s 4th for intercept marks for key defenders and 13th for intercepts so that part of his game is strong. Previous years down back Balta has had a contested defensive loss % of 18.4% in 2020 (which is incredible for a 20 year old playing on the best forward every week) but averaged less intercepts and intercept marks, and 25.6% in 2021. And 23.3% in 2022. Hopefully he can reduce that one on one percentage loss this year whilst continuing to be above average/elite at intercepting.

Key backs don't grow on trees. Lot of mediocre types carve out careers. Our boy is above mediocre and still has a tonne of improvement left in him.

Want to see the dynamic with Gibcus, Balta and Young. Feels like that group is pretty solid for the next five-seven year.

Just got a message from the club app, Young and Balta extended for 2 years. Both signed to end of 2025.

Young is yet another example of why we should be turning our list over much faster, especially at the bottom end. There are players out there that when put into a full time, professional environment will thrive and quickly become AFL quality players. We just need to give more players a chance to find them.

Good North Albury boy. Well done on the extension.
Tylar has done very well and shows every sign of further improvement. Can also expect to have Balta and Gibcus available, for the forseeable future. And add in Grimes with Broad's future uncertain.
Tarrant hasn't played this year and there are no indications about when he might become available. Given his age and the upcoming mid season draft, time for him to be moved on.

Some absolute beauties in our VFL squad. Had some nice players pinched over the years too (mainly by the Dodo :cautious:)

Agree. Looks bright for our backline talls.

Years ago McGuine, Thursfield and Moore were being marketed as the same for us. They would all get smashed by the above three.

The Tigers Dave Replacement going forward.

Good luck to the lad, he's got enough tools he just needs to develop in the same way Rance and Grimes and Broad were developed as stoppers first and foremost then added more strings to their game over ensuing seasons.
