The interviewer of Jack Ross post game last night said that Tyler Sonsie has credited Jack Ross for taking him under his wing, Ross said yes we have a bit of a bromance going on and that he gravitated to Sonz as he is just a natural footballer.

Shows what stepping up to lead does to you. Dan Rioli in the same boat. Great to see.

I suspect he might be a precious with his hair, as his team mates go out of their way to mess it up when he kicks a goal

His 1970s hairdo doesn’t get anywhere near the recognition it deserves. Very cool.
It's horrible. Looks like he should be wearing coke-bottle glasses and a short-sleeved business shirt with a pocket protector.

Another solid performance by Sonzarella, but I was a bit surprised he went for goal with the right foot banana rather than have a ping on his left in the last quarter (might have been the 3rd).

Maybe with his name he should have gone the 50s quiff?

Tho’ do kids his age know about Fonzie? I recall Butler and Castagna didn’t understand why C was nicknamed George.

Yeah looks to have good chemistry with Ross, they were looking for each other after their goals

The game seems easy for the sizzle

A natural footballer, getting better, having more of an impact.

Will be interesting to see who the match committee keep in the team if Dusty comes in

He's going to be a beauty. Still no preseason. His arms have no definition whatsoever. Give him a couple of pre-seasons to fill out and we should see someone that is equally as comfortable inside as out. I can't get over how composed he is when in heavy traffic. One of those natural footballers who seems to have more time when he's got the ball than those around him.

Agree, tank and muscle to come for the 19yo.. could be anything. Its taken Cumberland (21yo) drafted 2019 to get into his "man" body. 2-3 pre seasons to get the shape, strength and stamina.

Absolutely THIS. Out of all our players this year, I think Miller has near on been the biggest improver. Looks really comfy down back, looks great in the ruck and doesn't look out of place up forward either. Keep getting games into him...
This is the thing, we get consistent improvement in most of our players.

Miller is a much improved player, MRJ is a massively better player than he was this time last year, Cumberland is another example.

We have a number in the vfl who have great upside. Nyuon, Ryan, Bauer, Ralphsmith and even Stack. That's leaving out the first year players like Clarke, Banks and Brown. Of the players who have been around for a while the ones I see improving a lot are Biggie and Ryan.

RCD may not make it, he may not even be on the list next year, but he is a better player than he was in 2021.

Get Sonz away from Ross and pair him with Cotch.
A much better fit.
And both have great hair

True on what 2-3 pre-seasons can do but Cumberland not a good example as he was always a 'beast of a player' but he had an ACL knee reconstruction in May 2020, (his first year at the club), and missed the entire 2020 season and then Covid disrupted program in 2021 so may have come on quicker otherwise?
Cumberland probably did need those 2 year's to learn our game plan though, (refer to Dimma's comments below).

**So basically he and Sonz are opposites, no need for note taking for Sonz his footy IQ is off the charts but we do want him to become a Beast ;) :)

Asked to expand on the improvement made by Cumberland, Hardwick added: “He was always a beast of a player, athletic traits, but probably like most Queensland kids a little bit slow in the general footy IQ stuff, but he has worked incredibly hard on that part of the game.”

“He‘s diligent, he’s got his notepad, he does the work, he watches tape and he just loves it.”

From memory Cumberland got picked in a preseason game. Then did his knee in the first half might have even been the first quarter.

Getting picked early indicates he was showing something very early on.

Definitely showing things now

He may have played some pre-season games but the injury occurred at training.

"The injury to his left knee occurred during a drill in Thursday’s main training session.

Cumberland, 19, will not play for the rest of season 2020".
