After such a buildup, the usual suspects delivered. Lack of skills, too many turnovers, too much left to too few.
It pisses me off that these blokes are supposed to be elite, but most couldn't hit a brick outhouse.
What exactly do they practice? Why don't they show improvement?
I'm sick of the same crap dished up week after week, year after year.

Agree what have they been practicing during the off season?

How the players can trouser their match payments tonight is amazing.

They were outplayed by kids. Some hard decisions are going to have to be made on Wallace and Co.

For mine Bowden and Brown can be retired now! They're over the hill and we are going nowhere fast with our mature aged players.

We were constantly under ressure but couldnt give out any type of pressure. Loose men everywhere. Pretty boys who are afraid t otackle, afraid to back themselves and jsut happy to be AFL footballers. Disgusting effort that was, we deserve better.

It really is the million dollar question. How do you practice every day and get worse.
Also why is the development of our juniors at a snails pace - if at all.

It has to come back to the coaching, although we have changed coaches many times all with the same result.
I had sort of got used to it but tonight has got me especially angry for some reason.

Unfortunately I am not surprised by what happened tonight. Angry, yes. Surprised, no.

It gets back to the endemic failure to build a successful and ruthless culture in the past 25 years or so. We had it back in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s but then lost it forever more. Our players are introverted and lack character on the footy field. They lack resilience and hardness. They don't bleed for the cause and they don't hurt or care enough. They refuse to put their bodies on the line and they refuse to shepherd or tackle hard. The skill level is deplorable. No, embarrassing. It is worse than suburban standard.

All of these faults show up under the harsh glare of the spotlight of a BIG match. The RFC FAILS nearly EVERY time in these big matches. It is just *smile* pathetic. Wallace has had 5 years to change this. It is no better than it was when he started. But what would you expect when you focus on a game plan that revolves around playing soft unaccountable football and focus on recruiting players like McMahon who refuse to apply the type of defensive pressure on the opposition that is needed to win these matches on a consistent basis.

This club is in serious trouble. It needs to cut its losses immediately and bring in someone who is capable of focusing on those traits that are common to successful football sides. Wallace needs to go now. Appoint a caretaker and start the process of a finding a long term replacement who will instill the right values, and players, into the palying list. For mine Hardwicke is the man for the job.

Watch them at training and you'd fall asleep. All light, easy, under 10s training. No system in game plan. Just the basics.

When Geelong were the top side, Wallace copied their style of play and now that Hawthorn's the premier, he starts copying their style of play.

Can't this bloke draw up his own system?

FFS, my 3yo goes harder at me then some of the pussies on show tonight. Clarkson said "I tell them the truth straight away". Well puussies down at Punt Road, the end is nigh'. FFS f off and let us move on!!!!

And if our 'ruthlessness' starts from the very top, Gary March has to become a hard, tough prez when it comes to recruiting coaches (and fitness staff/conditioners). Hopefully he's shown a bit of that already.
