Eddie on SEN now with Francis Leach taking him to task about the proposal. Good stuff, unfortunately Eddie didn't buckle.
he never will either,he`s a narcissist.

the only thing he`s interested in is collingwood and i`ve got no no problem with that, but it`s annoying when he makes out he`s doing everyone a favour by offering to play 6 games at carrara.

he was going on about how we`ve finally got integrity with the draft but he says nothing about the integrity of the fixture which collingwood benefits greatly from every year.
and now he wants to compromise the integrity of the fixture even more to collingwood`s benefit!

he`s great for collingwood but he is also a slimy hypocrite.

this will never happen

why would Sydney, WCE, Freo, Adelaide, and Port agree to give up their home ground advantage to play in GC away from their fans?

also who gets the corporate $$$ from these games??

Nothing in this for the interstaters, except less $$$, less fans, less ground advantage, and less members.

Bit harsh for the Tiger fans in those cities. :)
true. Hadn't thought of that

Maybe add the Dogs & Melb and play Freo in WA & Adelaide in S.A.

Just thoughts.

in another thought , if the Pies get it, then it should be their 6 home games !

The poll results indicate we have a Collingwood person in our midst. C'mon fess up. :hihi

If the Francis Leech and Eddie McGuire interview/fight on air yesterday wasnt staged, then I dont know what is.

It seems as though Collingwood do want to be involved and I agree with him, in that it does take two to tango. Collingwood dont want to throw their home games away, because of contracts and revenue, but if another team is looking at doing so, then Collingwood is willing to be the team they play against. Because you cant just nominate a team, the opposition have to be willing, which is what Eddie should have stated from the first place.

I doubt that was staged.

Alan Bond had this idea for us about 20 years ago and it was shot down in flames.

It's not going to go ahead because 15 clubs request a home game against Collingwood every year for the fixturing, us included. It doesn't stack up though it's a great request from Collingwood's perspective.

I think alan bond made a similar proposal when he became pres of richmond in late 80's. This should get the same response.

I agree wholeheartedly, Legends - throw the bastard in jail.

BTW Mr Pumblechook had an interesting idea on this matter:

( Re: Contract clause bans teams playing at Cararra until 2016 )

Something inside me can't help but think that this is somehow related to Eddie McGuire's seemingly absurd push for six away games at Cararra.

Being as kind as I can, the man is a dodgy spin-doctor of the highest order. I never trust or take at face value a word he says.

Six games for the scum at their home away from home.
Mega bucks from the AFL for staging the games at Carrarrarrarrra.
A free hand for a couple of years to get the Scumwood brand smeared like faeces all over the Gold Coast.
Why wouldn't Eddie be going for it?
With the stadium / govt. deal locking a new Qld based team into the Gabba till after 2015 the AFL needs to get a Melb. based team up to the Coast to fudge around the existing deal.
It's no wonder the Qld govt. isn't interested in helping fund any stadium development for Dimi and the boys.

Hmm, I thought the computers at Centrelink were only for job searching.

Let's face it, is we had the muscle Collingwood had and our President was prepared to push something like this for Richmond, we'd be rapt.

While I would hate to see the proposal approved, I do grudgingly admire Eddie and Collingwood for continually pushing their club.
