As far as the game goes your mob were better than us on the night - simple as that
both sides kicked poorly and missed chances
your key fwd (williams kicked 5) ours (Richo - 1 / 4) that probably sums it up
As far as players missing - Hawks had Crawford & Everitt who are both guns
We had Brown & Couglan - (the likes of Gaspar - no match up, Chaffey - dud, Tivendale - dud, Kellaway - average, thursfield - raw - would not have changed the contest IMO

As far as the RFC goes i believe the backline looks ok, the mids look ok but the fwd structure is and always has been weak - If we rely on Richo, Stafford, Patto we will mark time and stand still

Its time to go small in the fwd line, Lids, Bling, Pettifer - Richo as a decoy only and hughes and limbach to be experimented with

what would of happened if we isolated Lids as the only fwd inside 50?

We had Stafford in the square and wouldnt even kick it long to him? go figure that?

There were many occasions when the HBF (hartigan) ran the ball out of 50 looked up fwd and there was no movement, no one presenting (except Richo - who was usually running out to the boundary) if thats the case then bomb it to the square........

Yes it was only feb but a game of football is football and winning is better than lossing.

Cheers Rosy, I'll admit I have defected from what some may call the dark side of football forums, and I'm certainly looking forward to talking about Richmond with other tigers fans, and not so much talking about each others short comings.

Lossing??? Look at Carlton last year - they won the bloody thing. Did it do them any favours?? When you play 2 rookies who cannot play senior football unless someone is placed on the long term injury list, it clearly shows that NAB cup is not a priority. Let's just chill FFS! Let's face it, come round 1, players like Roach, Howat etc won't be in the senior side as they will be replaced by senior players that can actually play.

Good post Rosy. The posters you refer to, of course, are entitled to their opinion. I would however refer to them as reactionary or drama queens. I meet them every day in the workforce, panic at the drop of a hat and this can be contagious moving to the most unsuspecting people, sometimes cause a frenzy of behaviour - all completely unnecessary. Cool and level heads are what is needed, not those looking for blood after a first hit out in a pre-season game. TW was experimenting with many players in different postions on Saturday, a refreshing approach - this has key benefits to know what tools are available in the toolbox when the season proper starts. Understanding the possibilities for the team structure was TW's primary goal, winning would have simply been a bonus. Oh yeah, anyone ever heard of being rusty after a long break from something.
