Heard Byron Pickett was considering a move. Not happy with an offer at PA. How would people react to him being at RIchmond....he is hard at it can get the ball and would surely unsettle a few sides with with his strength. He could put in a few hard years and add the hard at it tyupe we need.

Refer to my post in the "hard nut" thread!

Undisciplined, has off-field behavioural problems, and couldn't make Port's team for various parts of the year due to poor form. Pass.

I'd accept Byron before redrafting Hilton ;)

The word from his manager is he would like to go to Carlton to be with Pagan again.

Imagine how many trips to the tribunal we could have though with Stafford and Pickett. It would be a dream come true. :police:

I'd like Pickett if he was cheap, but not at a high cost for 12 games.

What about Byron?
It isn't fair!
He's had enough now he wants his share.
Can't you see?
He wants to live.
But you just take more than you give.....

.......more than you giiiiiiiiiiiiiiive.

I personally don't think BP will be able to fit into the 'new culture' of the RFC.

Will be a bad influence and may go walkabout in the big smoke.

You guys are missing the chance of a lifetime,

It is the old sleep with the enemy theory.

with Byron Pickett in Tiger Colors, our guys will never have to fear again.

:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl, sorry man but it is funny.

this site never ceases to amaze me. First of all there was the outcry about even considering Fevola, now it appears the Picket should not be looked at. I'm sure it is the same people who compalin about us not having a hard edge that now say they don't want Byron. Short memoories a lot of you, am i dreaming or did this guy win the Norm Smith medal 12 months ago?

Are we all of a sudden only going to recruit church going, non-drinking saints? football is about taking risks, it is up to TW, GM and the team to look at all the options and evaluate those risks. I would love to see picket in our team stroming off half back, or when we need a lift, going foward and kicking a couple.

this attitude of writing talented opposition players off is ludicrous. WE MUST LOOK AT EVERY AVAILABLE PLAYER AND DETERMINE IF THEY CAN HELP THE RFC.

I am in total agreeance with you.

Why bother? He could spend half his time suspended anyway.

So halve his contract then ;)

That's what Port tried to do ;)

Personally, I disagree with Goose, under the current Tribunal setup - Byron is a liability. Regardless of his performance in the 04 GF

I'm not.

RFC has a 4year plan to Develop Our Own, whilst noting that there are financial constraints.

Cant see Fev or Pickett contributing significantly to the onfield future of RFC development.  Fev would rob Patto of games and gametime.  Pickett would rob youngsters like Jacko, Raines, Meyer, Polo etc of games and gametime.

Lets look for 10 year RFC players, not players with little growth potential as part of the RFC structure.

Excellent post Darth. On this and the "What can I get for Kraks" thread, there are plenty of posts chirpily embracing Pickett to the tiger bosom.

Complete rubbish. Its a fact of life that 29 year old players decline and give less and less before facing the grim spectre of retirement. For goodness sake can't we let the miserable little head hunter retire somewhere else?

Goose, you're missing the point. It's not so much dont get Byron its dont get him at that price.

i dont know about others but i bag picket because i think hes a dud.a norm smith medal is an award for 1 game even hacks have good games if they are allowed to run around by themselves.
