What did Andy Kellaway say to Newman?

As Chris was being attended to the quiet achiever Kellaway went over to him.

Would like to know what he said. I imagine it was something along the lines of "dont worry mate, we'll thrash these weak bastards just for you".

It's difficult to know exactly what Andy said, but, I'm sure when he went over to Newman he must have felt helpless; It was almost a natural reaction to see how his mate was doing. When Andy walked away, his chest was pumped in a fashion saying, this one's for you buddy.

Last year, Richo felt the same way whilst watching Browny being attended to by medical staff. Richo's reaction was different to Kellaway's, in a way in which he felt right at that moment, September action had probably eluded the Tigers one more time.

Sitting in the stands yesterday, my reaction was still; I felt Newman's pain simply by his reaction whilst lying on the turf. His arms spread from side to side and all his energy focussing on his leg trying to absorb the pain.

Richmond's win yesterday wasn't enough to erase the sadness felt for Chris Newman. There's only one game in the year that can heal the emotion of such a horrific injury- It's victory on the last Saturday in September.

He won the best clubman last year, spoke to him at the best and fairest and he was really lovely to me and my friend always liked newmo but from that point on whenever my friend or I talked about him we would always say Chris Newman he's great :hearton

Felt the same way Skills and do still.
Under normal circumstances would have relished a victory against the Maggots but somehow the win felt hollow yesterday.

In his career thus far Newmo's been fairly lucky with injury before this.
I'm not sure why I'm saying this but he just seemed like someone this was unlikely to happen to. :(

May have tried to lighten the tension.
Maybe...

"Hello Newman"
"Thems the brakes kiddo. Yep tibua & fibula brakes"
"Don't worry in a year you will fell like a New-Man"
"I told you to watch out for those Magpies swooping"
"Can you just check if I left my headlights on, Blue Ute, parked at Punt Rd"
"This thing must be cheap on the petrol".

Sorry, couldn't help myself. The only way to get over things is to laugh.

It was great to see someone get to Newman in his time of need. I actually thought that was of the highlights yesterday, the way the boys stuck up for each other. Browny gave Harry O'Brien a spray when he got reported, Richie Tambling and Axel Foley took on A.Rocca in a handicap match, JBow pushed Tazzas head in the ground after he gave PBow a cheapy in the contest before. We even looked a bit lippy and arrogant.

Won't be long before TW starts to target players and put them in the gun like he did at Footscray.

Great teams strut and have some lip about them because they care. Maybe we are seeing the start of it.

and the way some of the collingwood supporters reacted... gives us another reason to hate them

You dont need any reasons to hate them other than they are absolute scum. Sorry Dad but a fact is a fact..... :spin
