PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I trotted off to the G yesterday not expecting much. Like many here I was pleasantly surprised to see that pleas for action from many of us on PRE were finally being heard.

A number of us have been urging TW to play Richo outside the 50 meter zone for years. Finally it happened and guess what he starred across the center and backline taking stacks of marks and a lot of possessions. I felt a lot more comfortable seeing him there propping up our fragile defence. He may be iffy kicking for goal but did you notice how good his kicking was around the ground? Could this be because the pressure is off him to shoot through the big sticks?

Tambo slotted 4 in the first quarter and a number of the other young guns provided an avenue to goal. They are our future I think it's wise that they are made to perform without Richo by their side.

Finally Brett Deledio was moved from the back pocket. He kicked a 65 meter goal which indicates to me he is totally wasted in the backline. He seemed to struggle in the center in the last quarter so why not try him out on the wing where he'll have more space. Could be a good position for him to develop. We have to be more creative at Tigerland.

I was watching the Eagles clear the ball out of our forward line and noticed how quick they were at hand passing to one another. They don’t seem to hesitate as much with their disposals. I think the Tiges need to do these sorts of drills at ball disposals. You don't get second chances against sides like WC. Not much fun watching one of our players being run down without being alerted to the danger by a fellow team mate.

Those are my thought anyway. We lost the game which sucks but hopefully we learnt something from yesterday.
