Matthew White - Weights, disposal

Andrew Kellaway - disposal

I've just been reading the Champion Data Player performance anaylisis in the Footy Record.

Whitey and Kel are both above AFL average and ahead of a majority of their team mates.

Andy's kicking efficiency is 81.9 (AFL average for a defender 79.7)  His handball average is 92.3 (AFL average for a defender 86.1)  Disposal efficiency perventage is 85.3 (AFL av for a defender 82.3)  Andy is second only to Newmo out of our defenders.

Whitey's kicking efficiency is 82.9 (AFl av for midfielder75.3)  His handball is 86.7 (AFL av for midfielder85.3)  His disposal efficiency % is 83.9 (AFL av for midfielder 78.7)  Matty is second in disposal effieciency% for our midfielders to Danny Meyer.

Working on the theory every one can improve I'll use the stats to give each player something to work on.

T. Simmonds- More hit outs to our advantage
T Knobel- Get the body right to play more games
G Stafford-
S Tuck- Disposal efficiency
M Coughlan- Improve handball efficiency
G Tivendale- Improve disposal efficiency
B Deledio- Improve handball efficiency.  Add a couple of tackles a game
K Johnson- Improve handball efficiency.  Add a tackle a game
C Hyde- Good efficiency but get more of the ball
N Foley-Improve possession efficiency, especially kicking (60%)
J Humm- Force his way in for a game
B Hartigan- More clearances and tackles
R Tambling-Work on goal kicking efficiency (8.15 after Rd 17)
D Meyer- Good stats, with experience get more of the ball
M White- As above and add a tackle or two a game
T Roach- Force his way into the team
D Rodan-Get more of the ball and improve possession efficiency
J Oakley-Nicholls- Get more of the ball, improve efficiency and build up to add tackling to his game
K Pettifer- Get more contested possessions (70.1% uncontested-29.9 contested)
M Richardson- Improve disposal efficiency
A Krakouer- Improve disposal efficiency. Kick more goals
N Brown- Kick more goals (cut him some slack for low kick efficiency and contested possession%)
J Schulz- Handball, getting more possessions a game
D Jackson- Disposal efficiency
C Hughes- A big pre-season to force his way in
A Pattison- Kicking efficiency, score more
L McGuane- Same as Cleve
J Bowden- An extra tackle and better handball efficiency
P Bowden- An extra tackle and kicking efficiency.
A Raines- Disposal efficiency
M Chaffey- Kicking efficiency, tackles
A Kellaway-Maybe more contested possessions but maybe the stats lie :o
D Polo- Great stats, maybe a spoil or two
R Hall- Kicking efficiency
C Newman- Rebound 50
D Gaspar- Disposal efficiency, Rebound 50
K Moore- Not enough to comment
W Thursfield- As above

If the Jack Dyer medal was awarded on Champion Data stats Joel would have a trifecta. Andy Kellaway would be right up there too. Will be interesting to see how reality compares with stats.

In a nutshell....

Disposal
Skill
Delivery
Muscle
Goal Kicking
Running the ball down the middle ... NOT THE BLOODY WING

Attack on the footy & the man with the footy, decision making skills, Play on more with pace of our side we should be able to outrun most teams back ourselves.

I was thinking to myself while watching the replay of our game against the bulldogs, what did each player need to do to improve for season 2007.

For instance to see a Bigger bulked up Cleve Hughes and Jay *smile*.......

I forgot to say great thread Tigerbob :clap (and good to see you too :) ). If every player could identify and improve one aspect of their game it would be amazing how if could benefit the team overall.
