What do Brown, Cotchin, Raines, Moore and Connors have in common that the other 39 players out there last night don't?

You win. We were well behind in tackles but they are the only players out there who didn't lay at least 1.

On the other hand Jacko laid 7, Foley 5, Tuck and White 4, and Cogs, Newmo and Collins 3 each.

I believe the answer may have something to do with tackles.

Just a hunch.

This is where I wonder what exactly makes tackle because I'm certain I saw Cotchin lay 3-4.

I concur. You see discrepancies with other stats as well. Hitous for example. When they play at subi, a ruckman only has to look at the ball to get a hit-out.

And Nahas? Surely he was accredited with at least 3 or 4 tackles. Makes you wonder if they only have one dude sitting there 1 finger typing into a computer. ::)

Yep - he definitely did. Including a great two-tackle effort in the third.

**** I noticed that too
to add woe to that was the stat was that EVERY bomber player layed at least one tackle

go back to that top list you could also say those blokes all may have injuries or match fitness issues
which meant in the second half they couldnt or wouldnt get to crucial contests to tackle or win the ball for our team.
simmo, patto and pettifer also looked stuffed too, when the game was in the balance

having these underdone players was the main reason we lost IMO as our pressure and skill level dropped off as the game got tougher.

Yes I remember that. Should the stat be effective tackle because its quite clearly wrong.

Cotchin picks pockets, so tackling isnt always necessary because he has already stolen the ball.
