What I Learned From The Carlton Game

Do we still need to work on our kick outs? I noticed a few times the player kicking out would head for a contest between one Tiger and 2 or 3 Blues. That Pettifer leap was one of those, and because of the kick, there was little else he could really do.

Mind you, we also went coast to coast once or twice. But some of the decision making from the goal square seemed a little odd occasionally.

And to think we were no1 in the competition in 2007 for goals from opposition point kickouts.

I suggest you watch the game again!!! He was quiet in the first half (not the only one) but put his head over the ball several times and took a very courageous mark backing in to a pack without flinching

Tamblng 2nd half efforts were excellent & unquestionable & hope he maintains that form rather than the crap I saw in the first half.

In the first half Tambling had oppotunities to run into a receiving Carlton player to spoil a mark/possession. He hestiated a number of times (run/stop - assess again, then run) to tackle late, were if he just continued to run from the initial instinct he had he would have spoiled the Carlton mark. Was very disappointed with him at that moment in time. It happened a few times were I was sitting. (you might not see it in the replay).

Not sure if its just confidence or what, but I do hope he maintains the 2nd half efforts this year & he will have a great impact.
